Wildcat petroleum: South Sudan - Cat Flap Newsletter Photo Special.

Last Wednesday (10th July 2024) President Kiir of South Sudan issued a number of presidential decrees, two of which affected the Ministry of Petroleum (MOP). The current undersecretary Dr Deng was replaced by Dr Thon and Dr Lino was made the new CEO of the state oil company Nilepet.

The Wildcat team has a relationship with both individuals stretching back decades and the Company envisages that these changes will not affect Wildcat plans in South Sudan (re our RNS Announcement of 7 May 2024).

Separately, Wildcat was invited by the MOP to attend celebrations (on 15thJuly 2024) to mark the new appointments and as far as the Company understands, Wildcat was the only oil Company at the celebrations. Dr Omar our Country Manager for South Sudan attended on behalf of Wildcat.

The Ana Lucia Project is considered by Boku as having significant potential for developing a small-scale mining operation, similar to that operated at Cerro Bayo, following only a small amount of initial work. A more extensive appraisal programme, including investment in exploration geology to fully assess the geological potential, preparing an NI 43-101 and carrying out a feasibility study, seems justified on the potential that Boku sees in the area. Ana Lucia is now a priority project for Echo and its partner.

Along with its Tesoro gold project and access to several gold-rich tailings resources, Boku now has a strategic holding in some near-term developments and will look to advance them as quickly as it can down the production timeline."
