as of yet i have not read the offer docs normal is 1) sell the shares on the market 2) accept offer ( return docs and share certs as requested on the offer docs ) 3) reject offer ( do nothing ) 1) you get the money straight away but the price you sell at will be lower than the offer and a sell fee will be deducted 2) you get a cheque as is stated in the offer doc 3) should the offer go compulsory ( read the offer docs ) you will have to accept you might also have to wait for the proceeds should the offer not become compulsory you maybe left with your shares they might not be easy to trade ( i say might not ) this means you could possibly have to wait for another offer from enoc DYOR

ross i think he has 2 choices 1) he sells them through his bank 2) he sells them through a broker capita assets offer a sale service ( might be expensive so research ) a broker would require you to open an account you transfer your holding to the broker they then hold the shares for you in a nominee account then you can instruct them to deal ........................................................ my personal opinion is to do nothing he should check his holding at the registrars office ( capita assets ) i would ( personally ) wait until the takeover is complete then he would then get a cheque for the proceeds there is of course a possibility that the deal does not go through if your friend has recently received a dividend cheque then he knows what he holds any news re the takeover will automatically be sent to him pateince is a virtue cat

lucky i was in too lost £8k i do not however agree with you yes they fogged up they were a partner to galp on a 75/25% basis jv (galp 75% ) i have watched & seen all the published info there was oil there & still is i think that they threw the dart towards the bull & hit the 2 or 3 close by they did not do their homework with galp & they made some very naive decisions too cat
