Trading statement13 Jul 2016 09:36
After a vote, such as Brexit, it can never be a good idea to continue to kick your opponents after the event. Here we have a trading statement that accuses the Remain camp of dishonesty, without acknowledging the dishonesty of the Leave campaign. Whichever side of the debate you are on, this seems distasteful and petty. The company should remember that 48% of the voters do not agree with thie views expressed and may well vote with their feet. If he wants to be a politician, then he should seek office in the normal way, otherwise he should shut up and encourage customers of all beliefs into his pubs, in the interest of the company.
