investment- auto-motives. Company focus-Torotrak-'Gearless Wonder' or 'Toothless Wonder' . Just read this, a review of this company's 13 year history and prospects. Well worth a read to refresh your memory as a long term holder. Has this had any effect on the SP? I wouldn't blame investors who bought earlier this year to take profits, I'm still for sticking it out and hoping for a little recovery before Fri close.
For a while I saw the spread down to .5p and the Bid price 60p. Despite large buys this morning (2 of 300k trade type, equalling the Chairman's recent buy, incidentally ) the SP seems to have levelled off now. I saw somewhere that a broker valued the company on it's present business at 62p which would bring it back to my break even point after all the years! I intend to hold as I fell there can only be more good news soon.
Full year results due Wed 25th May.
John Weston, new Chairman, to be appointed 1st June, 'has a track record of value creation for investors'. (From Torotrak website) . Sounds good to me!
but is alive and well and living in Leyland. Promise of further license payments boost Torotrak share price. It will be the royalty payments per unit manufactured that will push this company forward. News of a deal with a higher volume car manufacturer would do the trick, still, 15% this morning is most welcome.
I thought Dma****er was wondering why the sudden drop last week, looks like another today, am expecting the SP to stay around this level until further news, things go quiet with this one for long periods, maybe some news in May? results.
Did not get any comments but it was Rover Not BMW that Tata are injecting the £1b.! BMW of course being the previous owners. The application of the transmission to the Landrover range might make sense. Larryh- did look at iii, the impressions I had from posts there being that SP is just catching up to the Allison licence payments as was my own thoughts. Hope there is more in it though.
The prospect of a takeover is good maybe for the investor who bought in recent times but I think a lot of investors hung on to them after buying in years ago. My own average is 62p. Considering the length of time these investments have been 'sleepers', my own idea of a good return would mean a SP of double that. That could well be achievable with licence revenues from a major company but not a likely takeover price in my own opinion. It has been such a long game that you may wonder if you will live to see it come right. It's an exciting time meanwhile.
Didn't see them, makes things more interesting though. There was speculation a while ago about Allison making bid. If you think about Tata themselves, they could easily buy out TRK with small change. They are currently pumping in £1 billion a year into BMW. It might only take an announcement of the use of the transmission in a small BMW to pump up the price of this share to what was speculated on years ago. Pure speculation on my part for now though!
I just wished for 10% a day! Just smallish trades from P.E's from what I've seen. Small volumes do move this share. I've seen no news today, perhaps interest just catching up to recent news.
Great day, 10% a day for the rest of the week would be nice. Some more good news would do it.
Licence payments of £6.7m now due from Allinson and Charles Stanley Securities have target price of 40p. i was impressed by the recent FT article reporting that Torotrak will not be replacing two retiring board members in a cost cutting move. They did say that the company might show a loss this year. Overall my own impressions are of a company that is finally showing signs of getting somewhere. I bought in years ago.
Hope there is a lot more to go on this one.
