Titan I live in the Bahamas, my wife and kids are Bahamian. I completely agree with your points regarding the condescending way in which the arguments are put across by some.
The fact is that we need this oil success and everyone needs to know what the extent of the potential oil find is and exactly what the deal is for the entire area. This along with a solid financial projection of the revenue generated for the Bahamas should allow everyone to make an educated decision.
It would be a terrible shame for this drill to be disturbed after over 100 mil spent and then the Bahamas still don’t know if oil is present and in what quantity.

Titan the $5 billion is only the start. That is the income form the initial find. Potentially is is 5 or more times that.
Let’s use the $25 billion number over 2 years. That would get rid of the national debt and create a substantial sovereign wealth fund for the future generations.
The fact is that drilling is very safe and drilling is going on by Cuba only a few miles from the proposed drill site.
The risk is already in the area. The Bahamas is just got the risk without any benefit. Why not find out if the resources are there and do the maths then make a decision.

Oaber, the Brexit situation could have major effects on British manufacturing including cars. A no deal would automatically mean an extra 10% would have to be added to cars exported using WTO rates.
This could cause major issues. The drop today is probably down to Boris.

BPC had stockpiled equipment in Houston. These are not small items that would be flown down on helicopters.
Unfortunately I think they will have to stop at Freeport but I am sure they will make it as brief as possible.

Freeport is a long way from the main population of Nassau. You won’t find many if any would make that trip to protest.
The route to the drill site from Freeport will likely take them to the west of Bimini so they will not come close to any large Bahamian population.
I wouldn’t worry about that.

The Bahamas and the people may have a few differing views however they will not pass up an opportunity of a free $5 billion+ (in my view could be multiples of) once all the precautions have been taken.
I am confident with Stena and the Icemax so this is sufficient for me to feel that the drill will not be stopped. Always take advantage of the panic.
