Wouldn't some recent Director Buys be encouraging? Look at my comment from March, it looks as though this could be a flatliner if business and revenue don't pick up in 2015. However, I do accept that buying in at current prices under 10p may be worth a gamble, rather than as a sensible investment, reading into your choice of 'punt' as a term.
Not much recovery, tenuous forecasts, Today: Vol. Sold- 11,099,154 , Vol. Bought- 1,199,888
-22.73% today. The bad debts and areas of operation give me little hope of recouping my investment, not worth bailing, I'll check back in a year or two. Bought in as a long-shot so knew the risk.
Yeah, meant to type 'this week', sorry, watching too many shares at once.
5.5k in at 170p. Money where my mouth is. And dividend date next week.
It's falling because the industrial 'demand' is being controlled from China, along with many other things being controlled from China. Not much in the way of options other than to expect it to rise again, hopefully soon.
Scenarios such as what is happening at Mara are par for the course & shouldn't significantly affect things now. Ex-div coming up, and with the Gold price trend, I'd expect this to rise above 260p next week. Just bear in mind the industrial demand for gold is not in the same camp as the vision of it as a 'currency' safe haven as the media like to scream. Still, I'm confident this will rise as Gold will rise in the near future. So should Plat!
Haha, I would think we are looking at our sp big recovery around July 2015! Not so soon as a couple of weeks. However, after our news I'd think it's reasonable we may climb even 50% in this August to see 35p, after all, that's 50% of only our current low low sp! I have a lot of faith in my investment here, but platinum is a strange beast against gold etc...
Testing my nerves, but all the indications are that increasing demands for plat (as China booms), set against strikes and supply availability, should still see us shifting profitable-ounces, this inspite of increased wages for miners. All a bit tenuous but there's no point churning out plat to stockpiles and lower market prices - strikes were good for us in a way, long may they continue, just to force up the basket price-per-oz. I'd check back in July 2015 & hope to see over 80p, but it's China who are going to be the industrial force which consumes Plat, I wouldn't wait on a European-recovery... ha ha.
Shame but not very likely this would be a good investment. I walked away, & when I revisit, I'm glad I did. Like an old girlfriend one might sometimes see, standing on a corner late one evening.
In yesterday at 250.5p I'm anticipating getting out in November at above 300p, and a nice dividend in the bag, one of the best bets I've made this year.
Ok, they need to call in some debts owed from bad/late payers.
Operational costs is the driving factor with the margins for profit (any profit) being relatively tiny, assuming the price of Gold recovers and continues upwards post-summer (likely). In their area of operations I assume they are also having to deal with corruption, bribes etc etc to continue with their expansion. The future looks promising, if we stay afloat into 2015 & they prune the expenses 350p is realistic.
I still believe & reiterate this will close above 300p for the weekend!
ChameleonMan, it should continue to rise, some on here don't look at the bigger reasons why Selloffs occur.
Well it's just resurrected 10%! Something happening.
Not to forget to mention Chinas' way of buying & stockpiling precious metals to force the market, just like they are doing with gold, so it is & will be with platinum etc. Simple. Buy lots at lower prices, use some in your home industries while you wait and raise the price - then sell for even more profit. China demand and buying power is undeniable. Their area of operation is the only thing to give me doubts as to AQP share value going up a lot very soon.
Militant action by the unions & reforms by the government in the areas of operation, AQP has it's troubles. In the face of it 'though, Platinum &c futures look good. SA problems, Mugabe etc will still need to trade with the rest of the world, in fact they NEED US. Hold or buy in here, £2 & above should come. I agree it's disappointing, but maybe see it as a time to buy more, cheap?! Good Luck.
