It's a Rumour, which is doubtful truth, so don't make a big point of something which may is not truthful untill evidence is produced. Scaremongering works in the same way. Untill evidence is produced one way or another, to persistently refer to a Rumour is doing just that scaremongering.

Private As I posted yesterday the fact that it is a Rumour is enough evidence to say that the Rumour is not true. If evidence is announced differently then that is a different ball game. So a
RUMOUR IS A STORY OR REPORT OF UNCERTAIN OR DOUBTFUL TRUTH.
