We appear to be in agreement, its a pity MMX don't have a respected broker/independent advisor who can advise the investment community of our progress and current undervalue. Nobody seems to be listening to Toby, his interviews are full of totally anodyne questions with absolutely no edge; all cosy smiles, nothing for us to learn there.
Maybe SJL could advise us how we can communicate with Toby as a core group, Huck
Well, fundamentals really should be what it is all about, otherwise we are investing in pipe dreams, maybe the industry just needs to get used to MMX doing OK. What I don't understand is why MMX have been employing fairly major players in recent months, is it to manage another acquisition or to organically grow the business? if you were going to sell why would you want to up your costs ? We are only told about historic results 6 months after the fact, twice a year, we need to know more, we are not the secret sodding service! investors will get fed up with this sooner or later. Huck
Silv you are absolutely right, MMX was all about sentiment, the sp went up to 19p based almost entirely on sentiment, but no more. If we are now viewed purely on our fundamentals of R, R and profit and are paying a dividend that should be reflected strongly in our sp and market cap which will naturally increase $'s per domain.......cant see why it won't happen.....it ain't rocket science........more waiting............. Huck
I remember when .org was acquired SJL was talking about $130 per domain, whereas ours are more like $30 per domain at the time I thought .org domains had more gravitas than say a .vip domain and were purchased by larger organizations, ergo were more expensive. I really don't see us selling domains at an average of $ 100+ Pity we don't have quarterly financials., to keep us all up to speed, the old adage is that if you don't tell them they make it up anyway. i think we should move on now, the legacy issues are behind us I see no reason why with continuing R, R and profit we are not on a par with the likes of Radix, I was just trying doing a 'mirror mirror on the wall' thing with the remaining players on the board. somehow and hopefully, Adultblock might just turn out to be our Diamond Tiara! Huck
SJL..... don't let that Donald Trump inject you with disinfectant to shield you from Covid 19, it could ruin your whole day and that guy is a total knob! I cant believe he is for real half the time, most people could do better by sheer accident! ..........Huck
SB hmmm sounds encouraging. It is hard to see how Godaddy can organically build a large Registry business worthy of the Godaddy name with just Neustar, they have around 12M regs, hopefully they are serious about building something sizable by acquisition. I think the medium sized outfits like Godaddy and Donuts are likely to build their businesses by acquisition, also the Abry's of this world. The intention of the aforementioned being to make mega bucks by selling out to leviathans of this world like Amazon; bit down the road i know but that is where i think all this going. We have had a print business for a good few years; there used to be hundreds of smallish paper merchants to buy from, now its all consolidated into massive companies, there are now only 4 companies worldwide that control paper sales! ............ Huckster
We decided to stay in today, too much gadding around recently, fed up with all the parties..............
So who does Daddy want to dance with? re: SJL
RADIX 5.983M regs over 10 generic names
XYZ 3.287 M regs over 10 generic names , bit of a one trick pony really.
MMX 2.461 M regs over 30 generic names plus Adultblock
UNIREGISTRY 271K regs over 24 generic names
AFFILIAS 177 K regs over 21 generic names
Surely the last 2 are too small to warrant the shag and hassle of a takeover, that leaves 3
What do you think?.....Huckster
We are hearing this lockdown situation will go on for some time, with social distancing going on for maybe another full year clearly there will be softening of the rules for businesses so that they can operate to some degree taking care to social distance, this will inhibit trade, many businesses will not be able to operate at all, this is likely spell disaster for thousands of businesses over the next year. Just considering, many businesses only option will only be to sell on line, this may increase our business ( I say MAY) if it is considered a generic email address, specific to the product/service being sold will help and perhaps be easier to find on search engines. This could all be positive for us if there is marketing out and about to sell the benefits of a generic platform. What do you think MMX have been doing for years I hear you cry, answer I really don't know.
Looking at our registrations on ntldstats there seems to be precious little recorded growth in registrations since December 2019, it will soon be May 2020, almost 6 months on! Hey ho we just live in hope.....Huckster
Yes SS absolutely, the MMX sp has coloured so many opinions, it really is regarded as a problem because we are investors. An investment is deemed good if the selling price is higher than the buying price within a reasonable time frame - a notion that has not escaped most of us here, yes, it is a major factor. But generally there is so much pessimism about other things being wrong with the company including ICM making us a den of pornography, dodgy historic management, lack of sales, it goes on........I really don't think there is much wrong with MMX at all as of now, sure all things can be tweaked as in most businesses, we could improve sales and cut costs bla bla, but through this crisis with the on line nature of the business we will do better than most, try an Airline or Hotel chain, we are basically all dressed up waiting for a little bit of consolidation we can call our very own.......................it will happen. In the meantime there is a little divi for us!
Cheers Sunday, good to hear from you, this prayer mat is pure magic!
At this type of sp I simply cannot afford to even think about selling, I am in at 10p with close to 3M shares so I am stuck while the Directors fill their pockets, I am a bit concerned SJL gets fed up of all this and simply dumps his holding. A divi would help me pro - tem - 3% would be better than nothing. I have been in the loft this pm and recovered my old prayer mat, I will give that a try and aim it towards the stock exchange......Huckster
SB....I think that is about all we can realistically hope for in the short/medium term. Question is, was it a good call to become a pure - play registry business? seeming the smart money says otherwise. Hey Ho
I have to say I agree with SJL and SB. Bakky, despite all our disappointments I really cannot share your pessimism. My massive worry was that, me, being ridiculously over invested in a loss making AIM listed company whose product could perhaps become obsolete, maybe by a new product linked to .com, meaning MMX would quietly go down the toilet. But the management have pulled it round so we now have all the key ingredients, registrations, revenue and now profit . I must say I am both relieved and happier now. The name of the game has changed it now lies in amalgamating tranches of registrations yielding maximum profits and minimum costs. MMX has to be a target among 4 or 5 others, all this continued consolidation is always going to be a good omen for MMX, I believe our turn will come, there are PE companies paying very good money to fold large registries together, Go Daddy is now doing the same , it is hard to see why all this consolidation is not good for MMX, we obviously have links with Go Daddy so.....why not? I know I want to believe an approach will be made to MMX but with all this consolidation why wouldn't it happen sooner or later? question is the price? surprisingly around 18p would work for me............. Huckster
Well done Bakky, very encouraging....how did Q1 end up ? who needs Toby? Huckster
I think what SB is saying is fair enough, we long suffering PI's are ****ed off at all that has happened to us over many years, constant disappointment, management muppetry, no sh value at all, hardly any trading updates. Consequently we are all very sensitive to further inequalities between Staff and board members and ourselves. Broadly speaking the company is doing OK and really should breeze through this viral period, probably with only a slight reduction in the sale of new registrations but that is always going to be much better than most businesses. I totally agree we really do need an update on Q1 trading and further updates as time goes on; Toby would be have to be deaf, dumb, blind and stupid if he doesn't think the investors are keenly concerned........................keep smiling................Fanny fur - load
Great to hear from SJL, very sad to hear about Bruce, hope his Mum stays safe. This virus is clearly going to mean no jam for investors tomorrow, or for a good few tomorrows thereafter, so deferred jam, not exactly unheard of for MMX, we are all used to that! Listening to 5 live this am they are suggesting 800k - 1 M businesses are not going to survive beyond the end of April because Gvt help won't reach them in time. Fantastically MMX are trading satisfactorily through all this (at the moment) and for companies to survive cash is king, for a reasonable amount of time cash is a resource MMX fortunately has, so in the circumstances things could be so much worse. It would be good to have frequent updates from Toby rather than wait with no word until September; that could be in another era!.
And we could be bought for loose change by a PE company or chump money as SJL says .............................Huckster
Silv and bakky....This has got to be about investor perception, Toby thinks 'numbers', and avoiding the difficult questions is what it is all about, yes all companies need the figures to read well, ours are OK (could be better) and I believe us to be operationally sound, I have spoken to Toby directly about the sp being nothing but dismal, he hedged and avoided discussing, i got the impression the sp was not his concern; to some degree it must be, it represents shareholder value, surely that must be a concern for the BOD. The problem is MMX is not recognized as a good investment, this needs remedying, the investment community/ gtlds market needs some guidance from a reputable and reliable source or we will be scraping along the bottom for ever. If our II's lose heart and take their losses we will be in all sorts of trouble. Huckster
Getting a bit worried about SJL, I am not sure we have heard from him since the end of year results, bit unusual.......... hope to God he has not got the virus, you Ok SJL?
In my best Norfolk, it gew t' shew how much of a mess we were in before the ICM deal, take their revenue out and work out where we would be? Going forward I don't think think organic growth will get us anywhere fast, Adult******* has possibilities, we need a registration grab, but we don't want any offers until our sp is at least 10/11p, that for me is 18 months away, if you invest long enough all good companies have their day, you have to know when that day arrives; it sure as hell isn't right now with MMX.
