I got in here three years ago at c.88p and have never looked back. Great stock this one. Good dividends too. Solid gold easy action !
all's quiet on this board lately. not a sound of single key stroke or the click of a mouse to be heard ....
this board has been quiet lately. I just got my first dividend. happy with that. Anyone out there ?.
Can anyone tell me why this stock fluctuates so much please ?. Luckily I bought in a couple of years ago at around £1.60 but after last months euphoria as we approached £2.40 it now seems to have slipped back to a disappointing £2.15. Any thoughts or details on these fluctuations are most welcome. Thanks,
Thanks spindok !. Glad someone was astute enough to realise my post was tongue in cheek. We need more humour on these forums. I'm not in SUH anymore. I only had 1500 shares and more or less broke even on them, or maybe took a small loss. I still look in from time to time but don't have any opinion either way as to the future of this stock. Good luck to those who remain.
I think it might be a good idea to have the airport back. We often used to go down there and watch the planes and write down their numbers in a book. Like what us plane spotters. We found it more exciting than the train spotting what we do now since the airport closed because the planes were bigger and faster then what the trains is. Anyway so we was thinking it would be good to get the airport re-opened. I don't know nothing about stocks and shares though, just planes and trains. So if your reading this and have invested in this then best of luck. Please contact the company and have them re-open the airport so we can spot the planes. Thanks,
I agree, always desirable if a stock pays a dividend. That regular trickle of income. I'm in LLOY quite heavily and have done ok having bought almost at rock bottom at 35p, although I'm looking forward to some dividends and growth henceforward. As for SREI I share your vision and hope long term it will prove ok. Thanks for replying, seems to have been quiet on this board lately.
Thanks for replying. Lets hope we called this one right. I think we have !. I will check back and post from time to time. Good luck.
Hello out there ? ... ... New to this stock, just bought in modestly. Think and hope its a reasonable long term holding. Any like minded or contrary persons out there ?
In my opinion the problem with the air port site is that its an air port. We are living in an age where Britain has no planes on its aircraft carriers which clearly signals to me that the age of the air plane is over. Therefore I think the best think that SUH can do with the air port site is turn it into a massive skate park or a 1/4 mile drag strip. Of course that's just my opinion but come on, think about it, a 1/4 mile drag strip !!. I mean ... ... WOW !!!. I am Buchaneer. Also find me on LLOY, VOD, LGEN, FTO, WLFE, HSTN, OML and PAL.
Thanks for the update. Me and the girlfriend (that's you Liz !) were down in Poole (Dorset) recently and it's the same story there ... some very luxurious boats at anchor in the marina. My gut feel with SUH is that, as the economy picks up so will the share price. Meanwhile you might want to have a look at this : www.coraclesociety.org.uk :-). Hope you are well. Keep in touch. It's raining here in West Yorkshire today.
Hello Spindok. You'll be pleased to hear you're not alone on this board. I'm up in West Yorkshire, a long way from SUH but, like you, I believe this stock is a good long term bet. I actually sold my entire holding about a year ago and more or less broke even. However I am now looking to get back in. To be honest I'm a bit out of touch - any chance you can briefly update me on what's happening with the air port site please ?. Thanks. The very best of luck. If you post here from time to time then I will pick up on your comments and reply/post when I can. Thanks Buchanner.
Hi Forbes, I think it was the 2005 Banana Weavil outbreak what affected the SP. They sailed across the ocean from another conttnent on palm leaves and devoured all the bananas. The only placed left in the UK what I know grows bananas now is at the Eden Project in Cornwall. I was there last year and I saw no weavils so they must be ok. They sure had lots of bananas anyway (although most were not straight enough to pass the quality tests used by some todays super market chains). Anyhow, that's what I know. which probably leaves you asking the question "what does he know ?". I guess the answer is, as always ... ... IMHO, DYOR and of course the now customary ... GSOH. "Bon chance mon ami" as they say in the former French colony of Mali. I am Buchaneer. Remember my name.
With the current rent roll at levels relative to the portfolio valuation the entire holding is valued proprtionate to invested working capital. Institutional investors remain alongside private investors who, for the most part, seem content with the companies financials and operational value proposition. Domestic markets in the UK and in central amd westerm Europe remain and with the liklihood of further market developments it has to be said the the overall outlook for this stock is as forcast.
slow burn ... big bang !. when this goes it will go big, and now its starting to go. i got in at the slow burn and am waiting the big bang. already doubled my money and its not too good to be true. this bad boy is a winner. i am buchanner.
Hi cipro ... truth is you never know with this share. It seems to go in cycles over about 12 to 18 months (use the graphing tool on this site and run a graph over 3 years, you'll see what I mean). The current price of c.14p is pretty high for this share. I'm not sure what's driving it. I bought into the share at around 7p and am prepared to sit back and take a very long term view. I have no plans to sell, but of course this is a very personal decision and you must make up your own mind. Good luck, hope it works out for you.
can someone please update me on what is going on with the offer from the Kuala lumpans ?. serious question. I declined to sell at 5p. what happens next ?
Come on PLAYTIME where are you when there's debate to be had and advice/opinions needed ?. What's happening at PAL ?. You're the ex- industry professional right ?
I don't know sgooner is the honest answer. I declined to sell my holding at the 5p offer before xmas and have not heard anything since. If anyone on this forum can provide an insight into what is currently happening and what the likely time line is for any forthcoming action, then this information would be most appreciated and welcome. Thank you.
Before christmas i instructed my broker NOT to accept the offer of 5p per share. I've not heard any news since. Can someone please give me a brief update on the offer/situation please and likely next steps. Thank you.
