Apparently one gets less Benefits if over £6k in savings and none if over £16k . And the reason i think I'm correct is this : my friend gets a top up by universal credit cos she doesn't earn enough working with disabled kids , rent & rates stuff .

Never have overdraft facilities on bank accounts ever ! Government won't check and not allowed outside illegal and avoid ISA accounts if possible, easy saver accounts often pay more anyway. Cash is king still , not so in China now , and that is where we're heading.
