What about the business owners (shareholders) funding shortfall? Q3 results and business update due early Nov I believe along with dividend news. They won’t get a better chance to show why they deserve the large rewards. However that’s still 3 weeks or so for them to demonstrate more of their current incompetence.
Who knows where this is going in the short term. Staying put had better be worth it because there are some good opportunities elsewhere that are starting to look quite tempting.
Share volume on Friday of 20 million was one of the biggest days since June. Maybe there’s an announcement on the cards or the professionals are finally coming back in.
That will clear up 2019/20 and be very welcome. We then need an interim divi for 20/21. If they address these and finalise the French, Italian and Polish sales then we might finally see the true value of AV.
Thanks for the encouragement. I’m of
a similar view but maybe a little impatient.
If only. Got in before Covid at £3.29 and whilst I’ve managed to average down with further investment still not break even yet. I’ll be hanging in for the long term but need more than general market correction to get ahead here.
It must be tough being in charge of a business that shareholders expect nothing from. Every SP rise is automatically followed by a sell off and price dive. This is becoming a trading stock when I should be a solid long term investment. BOD must articulate the goals and update progress more often. A good rise would catch out the short termed and maybe begin to stabilise this stock.
Zeno - you need to offer your services to AV to handle their financial PR because whoever they have in the job now is useless. I agree with you by the way.
I’m in for the long run so that would be good. Hopefully a few decent dividends along the way.
Why does L&G rise and AV fall? Double the number of shares being traded in L&G.
We need news of France, Italy, Poland and the final 2019 Divi. It’s time for AV to break out of the pack and start delivering.
Thank you for the advice. I assumed Hargreaves would transfer it. All done and at £2.79 so helped to hang on. Bring on the upside.
I’ll give it a try thank you
Funds arrived at Hargreaves account but still not cleared to invest. Will have to hope current dip carries through to Monday.
This is going to catch light any day now as Aviva selling stories growing and positive buy reports also becoming more frequent. Either way I gain, buy more cheap shares or reap reward for sticking with those I already have.
Will be reinvesting in the morning. Wouldn’t object to a little SP dip first thing so I get a few more for my money. Good piece from Reuters this evening suggesting French deal is getting closer.
At least they ended a bit cheaper so I get get more for my money when Divi arrives tomorrow.
It can only be a matter of time. Bring on £5.
Not sure you’ll have to wait 2 years. https://www.insurancebusinessmag.com/uk/news/breaking-news/aviva-considers-selling-off-another-business-unit-234183.aspx
Added more AV at £2.80 and will add again on 24th. Will have a good look at fxpo but price likely to drop on record day before ex div so would probably cost me the 5p divi.
With the French sale due for AV and a final 2019 div still on the cards I might wait a bit longer.
That’s over £200 million of divi looking for a home. Could be interesting.
Hoped this level of volatility was behind us as some good recent moves but they are a shambles. With the sum of the parts worth so much more that the whole and more divi news due this needs a decent stream of positive PR.
