Regarding TB and his other Holdings I know that logrhythm that he owns is used in sites classed as critical national infrastructure for IT security. I always wanted logrhythm to go public but TB bought them out privately so unfortunately I couldn't get any investments in this so darktrace was my second choice prior to IPO. TB is definitely the right person to buy this company let's hope he gives the good offer. Even though it will remove a company that I believe in from the market.
Good point Ndn.
Hi All,
I've just signed up for a DT CPD on 'Darktrace Predictions: What’s in store for 2022?'
Ill make some notes and report back. For anyone interested you can sign up for the webinar through their website. If i get a chance i will ask if their product is effective (or more precisely its efficacy ) when implemented in the 'internet of things'.
Runner. Thank you for your cautious post on DT regarding its AIM behaviour. I do hope you are NOT correct but I like to keep an open mind. I think that the other responses are too dismissive of you just because you no longer hold. You are correct that DT has been very volatile. I think that DT did rise too fast. However they are in a new industry (AI) and relatively new one (cyber security) both with potential for significant growth. i can not comment on their product as i have not used it but i can ask a user on their experience. I am also in a position to ask them to provide a presentation on their product, which i will do in the new year.
It sounds like your strategy from lessons learnt in your first year trading has done you well and I for one will add the (stay clear of AIM shares, IF that is what you were saying) as a +ve comment.

Valid point 99 I'm not sure what my native is at the moment I'm just reading and investigating to form an opinion. My thoughts so far is that price rose on fear on missing out and fell due to fear of being wrong. There were no press supporting the price rise. In fact plenty of news saying don't buy yet right from the start. Then someone with axe grind says it's overpriced and caused massive sell off. The most intelligent people get things wrong all the time. So only time will tell.
Hello all, my name is Sam, I am a darktrace fan... its been 3 weeks since my last purchase...
It certainly has been a roller coaster recently and I do think DT peaked a bit to early, however its a shame the UK market or press has not embraced DT as a UK success story. If it was a product that did not perform as they claim then why is it being used for the UKs CNI? CNI do not use fads or gimmicks.
I have just read this article as to vendettas against ML (or at least accused vendettas ) but surprise surprise PH are linked.
https://www.theregister.com/2021/11/12/autonomy_cfo_us_court/
Could people be trying all angles to get at ML... Possibly..
Any thoughts?
This may have been discussed already but is there a link between the share price drop and the end of the 180 day lock up rather than just peel hunt? Could peel hunt be a distraction?
My understanding is that Patel postponed until 29th November hoping that the judges report would be out by then. With the delay in the judges decision I suspect Patel will postpone her decision till 2022.

If it was a hack and personal details were stolen and they did not alert those who had their details taken, the GDPR fine would be massive. Unless of course they do a back room deal with the hackers and pay for their silence.
out of interest, who would buy a domestic version of DT for their home computers.
I wonder if this type of thing is on their development programme.
Hello JayneC

The document contains quite alot of information but if you search for Darktrace it gives one hit.
Hi all. This is my first post on LSE. I have enjoyed reading all the posts over the last few months as has been said before this forum seems very friendly and open. I have enjoyed reading other investors philosophies.
I came across DT at a trade fair a few years ago and was waiting for them to go public. I have not used them but know of a very important client that does and their due diligence has to be very diligent for the highest level of security.
I bought at 3.20, sold all at 5.10 bought with same cash then topped up at 6.50 and 8.70. I only have 539 shares as this is all I can afford to loose but I'm about 120% up so very happy.
I'm not to concerned with customer retention as I've seen many companies that don't invest in it and security property so would not prioritise such high tech as DT also the all big companies will definitely have DT.
Risks as I see them are that they only have one product so could not rival Cisco or Microsoft. Also if they loose their edge against hackers but this might not get reported on , but saying that AV software and firewalls are not perfect and they still get used.
As I mentioned earlier a client of mine uses DT and classes it as Behavioural analytics not network security which is provided but another vendor.
Anyway sorry if this post is disjointed I'm just putting the kids to bed.
I'm looking long-term hold and buy in the dips. Good luck all.
