Amazing news. China is ahead of schedule, beating existing climate targets, and nearing a 'tipping point where fossil fuel use falls into long-term decline, a milestone that could be reached as soon as next year

This was posted on linkdin recently too by MH.
'It is understood that large-scale vanadium battery energy storage projects under construction in China in 2023 mainly include 1GWH of China National Nuclear Corporation Huneng, 1GWH of China Energy Conservation Xinjiang, 500MWH of Hubei Xiangyang of State Power Investment Corporation, and 400MWH of Hunan Jishou Phase I project, etc., totalling more than 2.5GWH. According to the forecast of professional institutions, the installed capacity of vanadium batteries is expected to reach 8.6 to 12.9 GWh in 2025, requiring more than 100,000 tons of vanadium resources.'
That's a lot of vanadium if correct and we are talking 18 months time!?

First time I had read that China banned lithium large batteries…
To date, the world’s largest VRFBs being developed are in China, where the government banned the use of lithium and sodium-sulphur batteries for large-scale energy storage due to safety issues. VRFBs have in turn been promoted as a safer option.
V prices in China having a little stutter. Dollar rand still looks good.
Hopefully we get some news flow soon.
