George Frangeskides, Chairman at ALBA, explains why the Pilbara Lithium option ‘was too good to miss’. Watch the video here.
It is too simplistic to say by adding the volume of water held in ice on land to the existing volume of water held in the oceans would equal a rise of x. The rise in mean sea level would submerge low lying areas therefore the expansion of water would be lateral as well as vertical. It would be a highly complex formula to work out how much lateral expansion globally would impact the vertical. More complex than my Casio calculator's ability anyway.
@ faramog, I know your comment re the SNP was made in jest but I think that it is an excellent idea. The SNP have recently announced their goal to achieve "carbon neutral status" in aviation in the highlands of Scotland by 2040. Now I can't see how this can be achieved directly from aircraft, but is definitely possible from ground based services.
Imagine airfield lighting and guidance systems, ground power systems, terminal buildings etc etc all powered by green energy (local wind farms) all backed up by vfrb.
Imagine a political party, actually in power, that wants to be seen as proactively green and, in all likelihood , wishing to be seen aiding an African country.
Imagine a government that actually subsidises 7 airports already (Highlands and Islands airports Ltd).
Imagine the hial airports being a green showcase for airports worldwide.
I think I will email MN with the contact details of the Scottish transport and energy ministers and suggest a presentation in Edinburgh.
Thanks Alfa, the link refers to money invested with svs and recompense up to 85k , the vast majority of my investment is in shares of bmn. Can the administrator sell my shares to pay off svs creditors? Sorry for the o/t I will obviously follow the link myself but anyone have any expertise in this?
BabylonBoatman, you extrapolate more from my post than was my intention.
The price of vanadium is not reflecting a commodity in structural deficit, this is not a conspiracy theory, this is fact.
My post tried to highlight the analyse in my mind that which is the most likely cause of this.
China keeping their infrastructure projects on track, and intervention when necessary to achieve this, seems to me to be the more likely than other theories espoused.
World domination of commodities, whilst this may be their ultimate aim, is not a factor in the present V pricing imo.
In the ground. Offer the Madagascar government favourable terms to showcase our VRFB in conjunction with a joint venture with a similarly minded PV supplier instead. Can you imagine the publicity gained from such a move. Build it, if possible, on the site of where the coal fired power station would have been. Imagine that for symbolism and green credentials that would highlight. Okay, we would lose a few p from the sp in the short term, but more than worth it for the global publicity in my opinion. The people of Madagascar would get electricity, we would be the darlings of the green investment fraternity. The people of a third world country would not have to be burdened with polluting old school technology for years for the sake of a few bob in the pocket of first world investors i.e. you and me.
Expert, firstly I was the only poster who predicted £1 by Xmas 2018. This was part of a lighthearted piece of fun for a charity.
Secondly, I spotted you as a wrong 'un a couple of months ago. You've already used this oh so subtle deramp within the last couple of months. The beauty of it is even if the sp reaches 45p plus tomorrow your statement is still factually correct.
I am mostly a lurker these days and rarely post. I, however, avidly read this bb daily and have been dismayed by the way it has been infested by trolls yet obvious genuine holders get banned. I stand in solidarity with my co-shareholders and will not read any posts on LSE for the remainder of the day. This obviously includes the adverts.
@BBN, would such a move not endanger the very existence of ESKOM and thereby the link between ESKOM and BE. I agree it would be a great thing for S.A., but would BE not be back to square one with regard to tying up commercial contracts?
I believe this information came to light in a tweet from a guy called Mastermines who claimed to have visited the Rongke site at Dalian and has been told that the project (among others) had been postponed due to the cost of V.
I have not seen verification of this from anywhere else.
If true, the implication is that when the V price reaches an acceptable level work will recommended and demand therefore increase.
@swampdub, for me the company's Achilles heel has not been lack of communication as such, but lack of pr and for want of a better word 'spin'. The fundamentals of this company are undeniable, the opportunities for expansion ,exponential. Patience will inevitably be rewarded for new investors, as has been for me over the last 5 years or so. However, imo, the recent investor needs some boost now and the one thing within the company's ability here and now to boost the sp is the dividend policy.
Totally agree MrRealistic, I've added 13 grands worth during the fall. I know this will increase threefold in due course. "Due course" is this coming Friday if you believe my crystal ball. ??
