That doesn't sound like me mate unless I was just off on one :)
I'm broadly centre-right but also libertarian. I'm not anti-socialist as such but I think much of it does more harm than good and I'm from an appalling background/childhood.
Anton's delivery is close to the knuckle for almost everyone, me too but he's not wrong - IMO he would do better to deliver his bare-reality stuff with just a line or two of "I know how this sounds and it's not nice I know but it's just reality" :)
He is being Daddy, not Mommy and nobody wants to listen to Daddy because they know he's right lol
Ultimately, there's the way things are (right wing) and the way they should be (left wing) and never the twain shall meet - not while money exists at least.
Capitalism is the best we've got, like "democracy" (spit!). I'm not opposed to some boundaries being drawn, however, but where you'd draw those lines is obviously highly contentious, both at the top and the bottom levels.
Some of the top salaries are very clearly obscene but then again, I don't agree with higher levels of income tax either - it's already percentage-based ffs so why have a higher level?
At the bottom level, I'm dead-set against giving people money for nothing, bar the (very) few who really cannot work at least some kind of job.
The "poor" all now have mobile phones, cable TV, internet and XBOXes ffs - that's the new "subsistence" level and it's obviousy a disgrace. Everyone should be able to stay fed, warm and dry but that's it for me. When I grew up in the 70s we barely managed the fed/warm/dry ffs so this new "poverty" is kinda sickening to me I gotta say as it's ruining people and the society around them. No motivation whatsoever for those people to go and make a life for themselves and I know what that does to people over family generations because it's what I grew up in - until I "did an Antoin" and escaped, nobody else in my family has ever worked a job for more than a year.
If it's me making the calls then it's:
Flat rate 20% income tax
Pensioners who've worked 30 years don't pay any utility or public transport bills
Pro-immigration but no handouts, you scratch from day one or you're back on the boat within 90 days. Two years FT working gets you social security rights and a five-year pass to stay but go more than 2/5 years without working FT and you're back on the boat. We need an Ellis Island.
Social security to be paid in kind instead of cash
Scum like Branson forced to pay the same tax percentage as everyone else tax on their millions
Significant financial fraud yields a sentence equal to murder
Public sector staff reduced by 30% via performance-measuring over ten years, money saved pays the remaining do-ers much better - half of them do absolutely f**k-all, we all know it and I'm sick of having to pay for "services" that I'll never use and will never be there for me if I ever do need them.
Etc ;)
