I do find the notion that "governments" have any say in the oil price amusing :)

Impossible to say of course as it's almost completely dependent on the oil price.

So, watch the oil price then and, remember, don't sweat the dailies, it's the longer-term trajectory that counts.

Long-term shout for a return to the shelf this plummeted from at around 250p? Who knows, you'll likely need oil north of $100 for that which of course is precisely where I think it's going.

Shorter-term, and much more likely to happen, is the enormous gap-fill they left hanging at 130s - the weekly MA200 will be knocking around there come November.

You just never know.

It's got everything to do with this rise in oil though mate ;)

We're likely not even out of oversold on the daily yet here so, presumably, sit on yet hands and wait it out.

The thing about this rise in oil is that it has the very best reason for why it's so high and keeps on going and that answer is:

Because it is.

So, if Jamie loves us then we're looking for c$88 then c$108 for Brent oil and, obviously, way north of a quid here.

Unless oil magically collapses right now then this is playing out perfectly.

I chose to read JPM's comments as suggestive that everyone is now net long.

There's certainly a route to $87 on the Brent oil chart by way of a return to $77 IMO.

Evening - I heard that a future's market just opened for lithium, or something along those lines.
