yip work in the aero industry building genx engines , the main concern for engine life on wing is a balanced product ,the engines have several vibration sensors through out the engine so as the pilot can tell which part is becoming out of balance and if it exceeds set parameters it becomes a shut down in flight . Anything could cause imbalance from a faulty bearing to fod ,so if you can get sensors and programs to tell you something is a miss early enough it cuts down on long term damage, obviously saving millions in repairs. So yes i also see Gyrometric as a fantastic venture endless applications, remember this hours running on any engine equates to income so finding problems early means a return to service early to make more cash ,hope this helps .
