jadwales here's excerpt from financial press about M&G perfermance
One of the most popular investment funds has fallen down the performance charts over the past couple of years.
The fund, called M&G Recovery and managed by Tom Dobell, has returned just 7pc over the past three years. In contrast, the average UK growth fund is up by 42pc, while the FTSE All Share index has gained 24pc. Over five years the fund has also underperformed peers, as the chart below shows. The M&G fund is up by 27pc (red line), but the average UK growth fund (blue line) has returned 66pc.
Over the past year those who have been waiting for a turnaround in fortunes have been left disappointed. The fund has lost 8pc, lagging the average UK fund return of 5pc, figures from analysts FE Trustnet show.
Before 2010, when the fund’s MISERABLE run started, Mr Dobell had outperformed the stock market for 10 years in a row. As a result, Mr Dobell was hailed as one of Britain’s best fund managers
