So, let me get this straight.
After Putin annexed Crimea, he sends in his personal private mercenary army of little green men, aka the Wagner Group, into the Donbas to start stirring up trouble.
This is because he wants to annex the Donbas as well, because he wants a land bridge to the Crimea.
A patriotic band of, ~1000, nationalists form up to push back against this, 10-20% of these have, let's say, 'extreme right wing' tendencies.
Putin then uses this as a pretext to invade the whole country.
That's the sort of Orwellian doublethink\newsspeak, propaganda that Gobelles would be proud of.

Thousands dead, on both sides. Millions of refugees. Cities leveled. Russian economy destroyed by sanctions. Global inflation. A looming food crisis for the third world.
