Couldn't agree more Gdp per capita is a far more sane measure. We've had very little growth since the climate change act came in and we started exporting our value added businesses en masse to placate the climate gods. Losing things like the oil and gas industry will only make Gdp per capita fall further.

The models I pointed out in those countries provide better outcomes and value for money. In general they are private with state subsidies. The NHS is health Marxism and a disaster.

Here is a balanced piece on the state of Thames. Privatisation improved it's cleanliness as opposed to the lies pushed by the left. The current issues arise from unfettered migration and underinvestment. One is caused by government the second arises from mismanagement, nout t do with public ownership. Arguably there would be lower investment under public ownership since the service would be far more inefficient.

Dorfan actually our water ways have never been cleaner. The monopoly water companies are badly run especially thames but it's beyond fantastical thinking to imagine public ownership would actually improve the situation.
