I had most of the day in Manchester yesterday with THG at our monthly board meeting.

Without fail, I leave THG in a better frame of mind than when I got there. An inspirational and energising group of people - and most incredibly young too.

This has been a career defining investment and after over a decade on the board as a non exec director/investor, I’m just the tiniest of cogs in what’s now a massive machine, but I genuinely feel a part of it and that’s a great feeling. If you’re looking for an example of excellence at every level, continuous innovation and a burning ambition to grow and prove the world wrong then look no further. It’s a shame our stock market journey hasn’t gone well (so far!), but who could have predicted the storm these guys have navigated - and come out of the other side bigger, stronger, leaner and fitter.

My time spent with this business makes me a better investor and person and proves you should surround yourself with positive and clever people as often as possible. I learn tons more from them than they do from me, see continuous amazing new stuff and innovation and they did what no one else had ever managed and inspired me to be healthier (I unashamedly copied Matt Moulding’s gym obsession and two days ago hit the milestone of three years without missing a session - never felt better).

A few photos attached (hopefully if my tech skills work). Some show the THG gym at the Icon campus in Manchester where fitness influencers from around the world come to generate exclusive content which drives amazing levels of traffic to MyProtein. Can’t think of many companies that would invest in something like that, but it must have paid for itself hundreds of times over.

I’ve also included a photo of my company ID badge and lanyard. Might seem like a strange one but it makes me feel good to put around my neck as I’m proud to be associated with this business and more excited than ever for the future.
