Is anybody else having issues registering their vote through an IG nominee account? I emailed IG to ask for the procedure and was sent a link to a section of their own website which basically said go to the Sirius website and search for the AA proposal and download the proxy forms, fill in personal details etc etc and then send to them to us 7 days before the vote. On the Sirius website I could only find forms with Sample written across them. So emailed Sirius and asked where the forms are hidden only to get an email back directing me to Asset Link Services. Phoned Asset Link and they explained that because my shares are held in a nominee account my name is not on the register but counted under IG. They said get back onto IG and explain they need to do the voting on my behalf. Phoned them yesterday and was promised a call back today, call hadn't come by 1630 so I called them again. The lad tried to send me on the same loop but I soon stopped him, he said really it needs to be dealt with by their corporate actions team who finish at 1600hrs Arghhhhh! Now need to call back Monday. I this happening to anybody else?
On my other account the Halifax were sound, me and the wife have both voted No over the phone.
One more thing, is this Cutifani for real? he promotes the offer of 5.5p certainty as a positive, the only certain is most of us are losing substantial amounts of money. If certainty was why we invested then the building societies 1% would be the place. He then promotes the certainty of the project being good for the area - OK I accept this but not when so many locals get wiped out. The local economy deficit created by local investors losses by this deal will take years and years to recover. Got to be a better way.
If CF and the BOD think we're going to vote to accept 5.5p then we've really been following the most incompetent people imaginable to run this project. When you're being attacked the least you can do is defend yourself, to roll over meekly and take a 'kicking' is not the British way. With CF living amongst us and not l learning this is pretty remarkable, he has lost the plot.
I also cant believe AAs tactics, the part they are currently playing will not be seen by the locals as saviours, the stigma, bad luck, resentment will always be there. Locals will not rejoice in it's progress, objections at every opportunity will appear. The intimidation tactics of vote No = administration only makes me more determined and I'm sure that's the same with the majority reading this. I've voted No and it made me feel better, the obvious risk is we end up with nothing but I'm comforting myself in that I can sort of get my life back to normal and never be involved in the stock market snake pit ever again. I'm also comforting myself that I'll never have to waste time deciding who to vote for Government again, the country and especially this area needed investment, it was our hard earned that got it this far, for the Government to get a free ride on any future taxes and sit back and watch so many individuals get ruined is unforgivable. The billions of money available to build HS2 to funnel more money into London proves that nothing is going to change up here in the North.
I believe the shareholders will keep going this going to the bitter end, shame the SXX hierarchy didn't have the stomach for it.
Let's be clear, is Sirius goes into administration the only ones to blame are CF and his cronies. The clever RNS,press releases and influencers on these boards are trying to pin it on the No voters but it's fairly squarely on the shoulders of the BOD, they alone have failed and have to take full reponsibilty - no justice if they get rewarded for their performance.
All the shareholders have ever done is support SXX and the project, to be asked heads and the BOD wins and tails the shareholders lose is why so many are angry, it's just so wrong. I've a feeling we will end up nothing, my only comfort is Fraser will have to take it to his grave.
Bucky - my point was it was up to the BOD to keep the discussions open by continuing to look for the Institutional anchor investor, while a bit of time and money is still available the search should continue. To say ‘nowt doing’ is forcing the consortium to withdraw and is all too convenient.
Todays RNS proves that Sirius advisors are reading and contributing to these boards, the No vote momentum has been gathering pace the last few days and they want to nip it before it gathers more support. I find it incredible to admit that discussions with the consortium have been cancelled when time is still available, I would have hoped discussions would take place until the last second on the clock and last penny in the account.
I’ve already done it, get everyone to email Simon Clarke (MP for East Cleveland and the new Northern Powerhouse Minister) and urge him to be prepared for what follows if the No vote is successful, if he wants to keep his job he’ll have to come up with something. I’ve met him and he’s alright, hopefully he’s now got some clout, come on everyone get into his ribs.
Just under 500,000 shares at an average of 18.8p and voting No. I live locally and have been invested since 2012, I have bought on numerous occasions ranging from 3.5p to 40p. I believed everything the company said and really wanted it to be a success for our local area. The slick PR, MPs singing its praises, local councils onside, CF travelling with the PM and all the positive RNS's created the outlook that justified the locals getting excited. Now with this proposed AA deal the money lost from the area is an absolute disaster, the jobs created will go no where near compensating the local wealth deficit created by this AA deal. Family, friends, work colleagues all wanted to invest long term, obviously the hope was the shares would increase in value but it was the locality and the area benefitting that persuaded so many of us. I've had low points along the way, I lost all my shares for about 8 months in the Beaufort scandal but this stitch up feels worse. I've emailed Simon Clarke and told him the Government has let our area down again, I can't believe they can't see the damage this AA deal will cause the area. Do your own thing but for me it has to be a No.
Things are progressing, my son has spent the last six weeks over in Germany working for GTE, he's just been told today he's moving over to work at Wilton on the Sirius project starting this Thursday. He's seen the machines, they're built and getting factory tested now. It's another wobble on the share price with today's update but now that's out of the way we are waiting for the game changer RNS to land. I'm in.
