I'm sure that POW has a very clear vision of GMET's potential, and will know at what point to sell. I'm long both and can see a lot of momentum for GMET. In fact I think it is just getting going in that respect, with all the potential catalysts. I have no intention of selling until that all plays out, so I wouldn't expect POW to be any different with their holding.

We all know that mining is usually a very slow industry for projects to progress, but there is extra incentive for POW to get a move on as the SP has been dwindling. I do think POW need to up their communications game a bit this year and maximise each development. They could be a bit more imaginative on that front, rather than just a smattering of interviews in the usual places. I don't mean daft fluff stuff, I'm talking about engaging with investors more directly, going through the ins and outs, taking direct questions more often, sincere coms that get people onside and explain the intricacies of their model and it's potential...and when we'll see real results.

Any thoughts on why the PFS hasn't inspired the buying that one might expect? If a buyout was on the cards and the assumed premium would be decent then it would seem to be a no brainer. I certainly bought on the news. I have noticed in similar situations in the past that the reaction can be delayed by a few days while the news sinks in and new buyers do their dd.

That's an interesting article and the issue of the local and national economy not benefiting (enough) from their natural resources is no doubt a common one across the world, especially in Africa. But I couldn't quite work out what it was ultimately suggesting with regard to a "National Mining Company", or how the other final suggestions would help much, apart from a local stock listing. It almost wants to hint at partial nationalisation, but chickens out.

Why would RR still be a major shareholder if that was the case? He is usually only after multibaggers. I'm asking for clarification as the general consensus is the opposite of what you are saying. On the question of whether Oliver would go it alone, I'm pretty sure I recall from a couple of his presentations that the intention is to prove the resources and viability, then sell out.

The lead article in the Guardian is all about the evils of gambling and gambling companies. Looks a bit like government pre PR for a tax raid. I may be reading too much into it but too coincidental a timing

Haha, there's that too. There are some good opportunities but it is a shadow of its former self. The politicians are contributing to its withering.

But we don't know what the budget will throw up yet. Nothing can be discounted at this point as the government has been leaking some pretty wild proposals. If it isn't as bad as feared then the sp will have the current biggest drag on it removed. This type of uncertainty is what investors hate so fingers crossed the budget isn't extreme. For those of a risk on bent then, the current sp is attractive if you think the budget will be a non event. Given the latest proposal to "rewrite borrowing rules" reeks of desperation, I don't have much confidence they won't do something daft, though live in hope. Beyond that, if management delivers on their plan it should rerate promptly thereafter, it's that simple. The reaction after the latest update, though brief, was perhaps a portent.

I've been very encouraged by the drilling results thus far but rather perplexed by the market reaction. It looks like Oliver is delivering what he said he would, though fairly early stages so far and plenty to come . Aside from the potential government funding programme on the tungsten side, any thoughts on what it will take to kick start market interest again and get the sp moving? What is the market looking for from the drilling, beyond the first results?

I'm also baffled by the drop on the first assay results. We are all presuming it was Oliver's "economic" comment that precipitated the fall, though that did strike me as an odd reason as he was just stating what he legally has to state at this juncture. Proving viability is the reason for the drilling, after all, so this should have come as no surprise. If any of the reasons you postulate do prove to be true that would damage the credibility of the company and AIM, so I hope they are not. With any luck, normal service will resume with the release of the next round of drilling results and the sp will recover in due course, as nothing has changed about the assets or story, aside from a positive first drill hole result.
