The tender for the lease of the rights to explore and exploit mineral resources, in a 9.02 km2 section of the Public Mining Area of Chios, is progressing successfully. TERNA Lefkolithoi, AGET Iraklis of the Lafarge group, Geotest Chionis and Gaia Meleton submitted bids in the first phase of the tender for the antimony of Chios. There was also significant interest from foreign mining groups, however, the time frame was limited and the political leadership of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources decided not to extend the tender so that the procedures could "run" as quickly as possible. On Monday 17.03.2025, the unsealing of the bids will take place. The second phase of the tender for the submission of binding bids is expected to be implemented, barring unforeseen circumstances, within the second quarter of 2025 .
Positive messages are emerging from the project to exploit the DMX antimonite deposit in Chios, as four interested parties - two of which are very large players at least in the Greek market - submitted non-binding offers in the first phase of the international tender conducted by the Ministry of Environment and Energy. Geotest , an engineering consulting firm founded in 1999 by Christos Chionis, provides a wide range of services to the mining industry, with experience in underground and surface mining, geotechnical drilling, environmental and technical studies, drilling research in general and the supply of the necessary equipment. Geotest has collaborated - among others - with Hellenic Gold (in the projects in Skouries and Stratoni), with Imerys, Hellenic Mines, Rockfire, etc. The company maintains offices in Romania and Serbia.

Its purpose is the preparation and control of studies, the management and supervision of private and public projects as well as the provision of consulting services in the fields of spatial planning, urban planning, organization and operational research, architectural, structural, electromechanical, energy, transportation, port, hydraulic, topographic and environmental projects.

The unsealing of the non-binding expressions of interest is expected on Monday 17.03.2025, before the Tender Committee which has already been formed and will evaluate them in order to qualify those who meet the conditions to continue in the second phase of submitting binding financial and technical offers, which is estimated to begin around the end of
