Spot on JD. This should be rare RNS that shifts the SP upwards today and over coming days leading up to PPA sign off.

In other word I think the reason behind the holdup has just been sorted. Happy days.

I meant that they can now sign but could/would not before revisiting SEPCO. I am only guessing though it does seem as such.

A positive update. My take is that PPA negotiations required SEPCO to reduce their costs and they did so on getting Lot 2 of MCPP plus Mabesekwa. So PPA is now back on.

So how long can this continue? Another few days, weeks, months? I presume it’s until the bottom drops out of the SP which eventually must happen.

I think another week and we will see an even lower SP so even more ‘buying opportunities’ ahead.

Or just plain snap if this goes on for much longer.

Current SP is meaningless. We ‘soon’ are either on our way to <1p or > 20p.

You are, of course, completely right JD but by god its bloody frustrating. The most annoying thing is that we have no real reason to expect anything tomorrow or next week as we no absolutely nothing about what is going on in the background .

Mizman - difficult and protracted negotiations with govt officials/bodies that aren’t really helping speed things up. If next news is PPA I won’t mind but I am as desparate as the next person to hear something

If LC thinks that positive Botswana will avert a SP meltdown if MCPP is a no go he is a fool (I am sure he is not).

The only point I would add is that there has to be a limit to how long the silence can be maintained.

Tanzania cannot affford not to have electricity. The PPA will need to support a reasonable business model. If it doesn’t there will be no power. I think it’s a simple as that.
