BO, I know it's hard for someone like you to understand. Let's take Putin for example reducing the gas from 40% to 20%, he knew the gas price would increase by doing so. So he is still getting loads of cash and still conserving his assets. The oil producers do the same by resisting to flood the market thus keeping the price high making money in the same way, it's called good business and common sense.

Octane holding back on sales isn't as silly as it sounds imo, metal dealers do it all the time stock piling untill the price goes higher. Because the hedge is deferred, it takes the pressure off thus nominating a much higher price and get positive cash flow earlier owning 100% of the field.
