HITS you think it is not feasible to use Saltfleetby as Gas storage. If so why did the Government approve it in 2010 for exactly that. I am not saying it will happen while I am in Angus but in the future it could happen if things get really bad with Gas Shortages.

I have been reading up on Gas storage fore the UK and I have read that Centrica are about to open their Rough Gas field for storage that could store up to 100 million(bcf) at a cost of 2 billion pounds. I hold shares in a company called Angus Energy who hold the License to the biggest onshore Gas field that held 90(bcf) in it’s hay day, it did receive permission in 2010 to be used as a Gas storage field I am not sure if this as lapsed but surely this being an onshore Gas Field it would also warrant being considered as a Gas storage facility for the UK and I would think it would not cost 2 billion pounds to make it so. Being that it was 12 years ago that it received permission from the government for Gas storage was given I thought I would bring it to your attention. I would be very grateful if you could have a word or forward this email to Kwasi Kwarteng about the matter. I tried to email the said person but was told I needed to be a constituent or I would not receive a reply to my email and that I needed to write to my own MP. I know I said I own shares in Angus Energy but that is not why I am emailing you. This country as billions and billions(bcf) of Gas and we should be looking at extracting it, and also storing it for years to come so we do not end up in the mess we now find ourselves in.

We need to send Kwasi Kwarteng emails reminding him of the opportunity that lies before him. Surely it must be a great opportunity for storing more Gas as it is on shore and will be much cheaper to finance.

The Rough asset is the largest gas storage facility in the UK, with a capacity for holding approximately 100 billion cubic feet (bcf) of stored gas and has a deliverability rate of 1.5 bcf per day.

Saltfleeby as 90 (bcf )storage space so not fare behind the Rough asset

After reading this it defiantly would be cheaper to use Salftfleetby and I revise my figure for a buy out up to £500 million.

The overall cost to convert it back to a reserve site, with the longer-term prospect of storing hydrogen, is estimated at about £2 billion ($2.4 billion). Centrica received first approval earlier this month to re-open Rough for storage.

Come on Government give Angus £200 million for Saltfleetby and reverse the Gas going to the Grid and send it all back to The Saltfleetby gas storage facility. I am aloud to dream am I not lol.

Come to think about it they already have a pipeline from the grid to Saltfleetby, it would end up being a lot cheaper to use Saltfleetby in years to come than off shore I would think. Surely the Government would be considering it again for the future UK gas storage that's if they had any sense.

The Government have already give the go ahead once it must be something they are looking at again to ramp up Gas storage for the coming years for the UK.

Nothing to stop Angus doing the same as Wingas did is there surely it as to be on GL's mind.

You have no idea what you are talking about, there is Gas in the plant it would not be there if it was still under construction. There is an health and safety issue just to wonder off and leave it there. Once Gas is in the pipe lines it starts to be a producer, to produce it needs to come out of the ground which is as done, you have to start some where for production to take place and this as started, so they can work 24/7 if they wish to do so.
