Football manager Jose Mourinho, aka “The Special One”, has failed to pull in the crowds for Aim-listed Sports Stars Media.
The company created a product range based on the Chelsea boss, including a children’s cartoon called Mourinho and the Special Ones.
But take-up has been so slow that the Portuguese media company made a €577,577 (£478,000) loss in 2013, and is now being sold for just £1 to a group of shareholders, who will also underwrite a £215,000 loan.
In fact, business was so bad that revenues in January and February this year were just €1,184. That’s less than Mourinho's hourly wage.
