Doctor Soon, scientist, technology expert and multimillionaire, Patrick Soon-Shiong acquired 18.95% of Directa Plus on January 30th, thus becoming the majority shareholder.
The interest aroused in the eclectic American entrepreneur represents a further opportunity for the company, which has among its plans also the development of the US market.
Considered among the richest people in the United States (68th in the last Forbes 400 ranking), Patrick Soon-Shiong has built his fortune by creating and selling companies in the biotech sector and has personally invented a very successful drug for the care of some types of cancer, Abraxane.
He is the founder and owner of NantWorks LLC, a network of hi-tech and biotech companies, and, in addition to owning the Los Angeles Times and other group titles, is among the owners of the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team.
