RE: I emailed my MP today19 Dec 2018 00:01
Fleccy -
I would need to reword your letter for my use -
I'm a Conservative voter and I voted remain in the 2016 referendum, in which leave won by over a million votes.
This is the first time I've ever emailed my MP, but felt the need to state my concerns over the current situation in Parliament. I'm concerned that the democratic outcome of the 2016 referendum will not be respected due to the tactics employed by Remain politicians.
The referendum was a binary choice, leave or remain and I find it insulting to hear the Remain argument that people didn't know what they was voting for. I consider it an anathema, to see career politicians fighting tooth and nail to overturn a democratic vote, which they don't agree with, especially since they are supposed to be upholding democracy.
Should Theresa May's deal be rejected and the Remain politicians get their wish for a 2nd referendum, then the questions should uphold the 2016 result with just two options available, Theresa May's deal. or a No Deal exit. Remain should not be an option, as that question has already been answered in 2016 and should be respected.
Kind Regards
