RNS states that the termination of the agreement was at Jays request.
All they need is one season for the lot and they have 2 seasons

I think SS have probably got the message that their card has been marked. I'm not expecting them not to be displaced on the 17th, however, if they revert to taking their small shareholders for granted, I expect the outcome to be different next time particularly if a bid is made at a premium to the share price.
Valuable assets in an undervalued company will always attract interest.
