Not 100% correct melanocytes. Glanaco was the warehousing and shipping hub for modernwater, all the staff did indeed think it a strange acquisition. Though there was so many lies and dodgy goings on it was mostly ignored. Like the day a Glanco truck turned up to transport microsaic MiD units across europe with customs paper work declaring them as 'scrap wheel wash parts'. One of the many reasons it was purchased was because DV could take a large grant from enterprise Ireland to purchase it, by claiming it was going to be a manufacturing hub, so getting it on the cheap, Glanaco also had money in the bank and good credit lines. The reason it was sold back for a euro? DV took the cash, ruined the credit line and stacked it with debt to fund other parts of the DV empire. If they treat family like that what chance did the investors and staff have?
@yankee_d1000. modern water and labskin for that matter were basically viable business , MW needed to modernise and LS re focus but the products had customers, they and DV as a whole failed because FM and GB insisted on spending millions of euro on STC and PD respectively long after both had proven to be failures.
As a former employee I am trawling through the RNS's and putting together an email to the FCA pointing out the parts that I know to be lies. I can't prove any of it, so it will likely to come to nothing, but it is all I can do.
Check1, in reference to the REI TEX RNS. I have no inside knowledge of the contract details or actual value. But, The RNS stated the company role was to produce a swab test and that's hard to do when less than three months after the announcement you are closing the RnD dept and downsizing the other teams, what they did do was supply plates of labskin for other members of the consortium to use, most of it in the last month so the staff worked there backsides off and didn't get paid for it.
Also, you previously asked "what went wrong?" The answer to that is simple. The BoD, with no science or engineering background, ignored the highly qualified and experienced staff that they hired and who told them, STC won't work as you invisage it, BT/PD shouldn't be based on optofluidics, MW needs to modernise, labskin can't be scaled in the manner you want.
Millions of pounds wasted on sequencers for STC that were never used because there was no demand, free test giveaways to promote STC, trying to make BT/PD work and money wasted on free labwork for labskin customers who didn't like the results of the studys they had paid for, Nothing wrong with the science but rather than say 'those are the facts' Management dropped there trousers and bent over.
It's all BS. Rinocloud have no staff so aren't providing services to anybody. Glanaco arent continuing to support Labskin , Labskin has no staff and no labs to require support. Likewise once the stock of Modernwater products are gone from the freezers there is nothing to support. It would get really interesting should the auditors/administrators finally get called in and they find that a huge amount of MW 'stock' is mostly product that failed quality control. Similarly the recent Rematek and Interprod announcements are just chaf. They have always been the service partners for the M500/ deltatox and FX/LX respectively, As the release says the companies designed the equipment. They also hold the dwindling supplies of no longer manufactured components to repair and service these obsolete instruments.
What is particularly despicable is that the STC site is still up and it appears you can still order a STC test despite the company having no way to service that order.
MW going to MSYS in lieu of the debt will be next.
GB, after becoming CEO at MSYS, on multiple occasions told staff at York that he had no interest in labskin or STC and his plan was to integrate MSYS and MW then sell off labskin and STC. I would not be surprised to find the last twelve to eighteen months have been a deliberate act to engineer that outcome as cheaply as possible. Also Fiona Joyce resigned as DVRG company secretary and where is she employed now? Microsaic, along with John Clarke, the life long friend of Camilus Glover that was brought in to 'manage' the York site and proceeded to destroy two years of hard work by the management team who had just about got things on an even keel. His behaviour also resulted in the company having to pay off a senior staff member to avoid a law suit for bullying, harrasment, sexism, unfair dismissal..
