MrC - Other than the infrastructure which will require massive investment, EV technology itself requires improvements. One of the biggest issues with batteries is the depletion rates during cold weather. It can sometimes deplete the battery by half on a very cold day....
Charging times itself is a big issue with not everyone got the luxury of charging at home (especially in big cities) with many people living in flats....imagine all the trailing cables from the town houses with potential for trips/falls....
I do agree in the UK we will see a lot more EV's however when it comes to energy consumption UK is very small....US/India/China is where the demand is and hence the demand for oil isn't going anywhere for another 10 - 15 years....

All this talk about EV cars is bullocks. The infrastructure is not there to support and range anxiety means most people who do decent mileage won't be buying a pure EV. Even the superfast chargers takes about 40 mins to charge....
Most EV/Hybrid cars sold in the UK are company cars which is mainly due to BIK reasons to save ridiculous tax on diesel/petrol .... Petrol/Diesel demand isn't going anywhere....Imagine EV cars in India lol....Infrastructure is not there and potential increase in electricity means risk of power shortages....Maybe this is all part of the plan to increase oil price to $100 to justify ridiculous amount of money been spend on green energy sources.....We still 15/20 years of petrol before we see 50% of cars in the world powered by electricity.
Massive opportunity to buy Enquest at 20p as I can see this trading in the 40's by Oct 2021 ( as long as Brent stays above 65)......

Enquest will get closer to 40p on completion of refinance....

you can still buy this for 20p....crazy!!

Most Assets including Tullow's declined due to low CAPEX spend......oil in the ground is going no where unless you sold some of the assets for cheap like tullow?
