The Government is keen to boost entrepreneurship and give small British businesses a better chance of becoming world leaders.
For Ken Wotton, of investment manager Gresham House, this means Chancellor Rishi Sunak could take steps to increase venture capital tax relief, encouraging savers to invest in young businesses that are attempting to transform their industries.
“If he takes this step, the Chancellor could give a significant boost to companies such Crossword Cybersecurity, which we believe is among the most exciting early-stage investment opportunities in the UK,” he said.
The Aim company focuses on the commercialises university research and develops cyber security and risk management software. Valued at £24m, Crossword Cybersecurity's shares are up 21pc since floating in 2019. Its turnover increased 25pc last year to £1.6m.
