I simply asked Nigwit to desist his whining whenever someone disagrees with him. His research is fine. I do wonder why he resents reasonable criticism of Nanoco management. It's almost as if we were criticizing him. He must know that this not the case, since we all know that it would be illegal for Nanoco employees to comment on this board. I first invested in Nanoco 6+ years ago and am finally profitable. I bought Nanoco as a long term investment and do not need a newbie to tell me when I should sell. I suspect that others find this habit off-putting.

Smart, Nanonano! No one should even consider buying shares is a company with such financials. I don't believe that they have produced audited financials in over a year, perhaps even 2 years. Even if they have a great product, they are operating from a position of extreme weakness.

First I've heard of donations to charity. At least one year, he sold shares so that he could move to the USA. Note that his sales have always preceded a rather drastic decline in price. If I were him and I believed in Nanoco's future, I would donate stock.

I assume he is on his way out. I'll miss is equivocating.

Nanoco's angel apparently already agreed to cover all expansion costs. Treating the contract signing as a milestone makes poor business sense as it defeats the purpose of milestone payments.

Thanks NW--I appeared to have stumbled onto patents for idiots. BBD, I have always understood that 2 dimension refers to width, length and depth. Ipso facto, materials that are have width and length but no depth (i.e., 1 atom depth) are 2-dimensional. Since quantum dots have 3 dimensions, it would seem that they would be 3 dimension until sliced. It's not clear how quantum dots could be 0 dimensions.

The patent referenced by NW [thanks NW], www.freshpatents.com/-dt20180111ptan20180009676.php, indicates that Nanoco uses its expertise to make graphene, silocene and other 2 dimension materials (i.e., having a thickness of one or two atoms) by 'cutting' quantum dots. Thus, it seems to be an extension of the processes they already use to create quantum dots. If I understand properly, the real advantage is the scalable ability to create layers of diverse 2-dimension materials (Van der Waals heterostructures) which are needed to create versatile materials.

RC30: Great input! I initially had doubts as to whether autonomous autos could create a significant demand for quantum dots over the next few years. After reviewing Mobileye (acquired by Intel) literature, it is clear that there could be a huge immediate market, since they are already have at least two million cars mapping driving scenarios. Quantum dots could be used immediately to help with the mapping and testing of chips. "Mobileye also reported it has design wins for advanced autonomous systems with 11 automakers who collectively represent more than 50% of the auto industry. The vehicles will launch later this year and in 2019."

Great research by people on this board and by Nanoco. It is significant that Nanoco, by expanding into novel 2D particles, has spread its risk to a point at which Nanosys bears considerably less influence on Nanoco's future. Moreover, the University of Manchester's prestigious role in developing graphene gives Nanoco enormous credibility and great resources. As much as I have criticized management, they seem to have allowed scientists to focus on building a strong platform that will one day allow Nanoco to soar.

Great work RC30 and Eskers. I would almost bet money that the partner is Amazon. In 2013, I bought my wife an Amazon quantum dot Kindle Fire HDX--amazing product for its time and the best kindle display ever. 3M made the display film using Nanosys cadmium quantum dots, but terminated production in 2015. Recent Kindles do not use quantum dots, but it makes sense that Amazon would revive a cadmium-free quantum dot version. Who better to do it with than cadmium-free Nanoco. Amazon shipped 2.2 million tablets in Q1 of 2017, thanks to price rather than great product. Amazon needs to improve its Kindle product. Total Amazon Kindle sales were $75M in H1 2017. QD electroluminescence may even enable Amazon to use QD technology for its e-readers as well as the Fire tablets. Merging technologies could justify the additional QD cost. Moreover, it appears that he expanded Runcorn plant could easily support Kindle production needs.

Daltry: Very good questions. Nanoco must produce consistent results. Despite what some on this board may believe, institutional investors pay little or no attention to our speculation.

Millions, not billions.

SL: Since Dow is probably more interested in newer QD technology, it is conceivable that KDX bought Rohm Haas (which is probably worth 2 Billion) on the condition that Rohm Haas would buy the Dow QD plant. It is doubtful that Dow would give up on Quantum Dots. Thus, they would depend more heavily on Nanoco to fill their needs and even help Nanoco expand.
