Fair play AB, although the Bitfarms one does say the increase was on Nov 25, so their increase should be visible in December's figures. We know difficulty went up in November compared to October so it looks like Argo's hashrate was probably installed early in the month (well, earlier than Bitfarms and Riot, anyway!)
My point really is that hashrate is hashrate. If our mining rate has increased faster, that can only be because our daily average hashrate went up more (on average over the course of the month.) All good, of course, but I wouldn't read anything much into one set of monthly deltas.
I agree Bitcoin will at some point in the next few months get back to $70k, although I don't have any real idea exactly when. But ARB wasn't close to £2 last time Bitcoin was at $70k (well, $69k+). Why will it be next time?
No, the YE21 expected hashrate is 1.7EH, so should pick up another 95PH. This is still a bit behind the revised schedule announced on Sept 30 which stated the 1.7EH would be in place by mid-Q4, but not too bad. Still, it'd be nice if we could under-promise and over-deliver once in a while.
My favourite drlong post was on Jan 27 this year:
"Its clear to see by the charts btc is going fall sharply. Tin hats time im feeling"
At that point it was $32.5k. It went up in pretty much a straight line to double that. Lol.
"Am I correct in saying the next update will determine whether sp will bounce or dip"
Not particularly. If there's some amazingly good news the price will rise; if there's disastrous news it'll fall. But in all likelihood there won't be either, and the price will move anyway. Nobody will actually know precisely why, but plenty of people will tell you they do know.
"and when is the news next expected?"
We'll probably get November's mining update tomorrow, or possibly Wednesday. But we already know pretty much what it'll say.
