Most cruise ships cabins are full when the ship sails its a known fact that filling cabins to maximum is the only way to make it pay, as an avid cruiser for the last 10 years I can for sure advise over 50% are younger audiences on celebrity's & P&O. Cunard are definitely older, the recession is here and has been for years IMO we have never been out of a recession since the 2009 era and credit is readily available this is not going to change if it did the county would be bankrupt in real terms not just on paper. Cruise companies change status daily on filling there cabins, the last thing they will do is lay down and give notice on quarantine levels not going to happen. This is a pandemic most will believe or a conspiracy some will believe one thing for sure cruising will not be going anywhere the billions of $$ ££s involved is just too much to be ignored by all, a new normal will succeed and everyone who is cruising will succumb to the cruise companies way of travelling or they simply wont up to them. The audience for booking cruising is through the roof that's for sure not IMO but fact so people will jump back on board when allowed to do so, the fact of the matter is they raise capital in the billions because bookings are through the roof not because hey we may sail again !! You refer to jobs being lost have you been to Mumbai to see the queues every day for CCL sea school ? You really do not need to banter on the job situation these will be filled ten times over when required. I personally do not know any youngsters feeling the pinch most have been educated and brought up with plastic and this will be the future "Credit". Now you write in realistic terms of an Armageddon this is simply not the case its a blip , a large blip but still a blip, as with air lines I think very shortly all travel will be open but it will be down to the individual companies and countries to implement there own requirements for travel.
