IMO JMP analysis seems desperate to drive down the price for whatever reason, first of all why would RR in a recovery state (intent proven by their staff reduction and streamlining completed last year), venture and create a new SBU for SMR that would potentially put the company loss making until 2030? I mean that is something to laugh about.
I've always been under the impression that the new venture into SMR began with the 500m funding, if i'm wrong then they would have started R&D way before the funding, so the new venture is funded through a separate stream.
Since they are streamlined now, which was completed a year before the target then revenues should turn into profits this year.To eloquently put it; which daft management would create a loss making SBU for potentially 8 yrs let alone reinvest their profits annually to it that may not create profits from SMR. It's a joke of an analysis.
Bottom line is, it's BAU for RR, continuing working and deliver results,
UK govt has invested too much time and money into RR for nuclear energy, the smr designs are being pushed in the approval phase, worst that can happen is diversify a small percentage to other friendly companies which i believes is unrealistic, it's natural for competitors to submit their ideas, the least anyone can do is listen.
it started to rise from 16:15
it's been over 20 yrs and no war crime tribunal setup for blair....putin, it's been barely 2weeks and already held a hearing 3 days ago....u get me of disproportionate sympathy
ok so what is your opinion about george bush, tony blair and nato allies who invaded Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, backed up rebel groups in Syria, this is all in recent times and war crimes of carpet bombing entire cities before sending in foot soldiers whom committed rape published and released in classified docs officially and unofficial via wiki-leaks, Should UK, USA, and other nato countries deserve an attack the rest of the world can throw at it ! official figures....250,000 killed in Afghanistan, 450,000 in comparison to less than 500 in Ukraine, afg/iraq must be thinking where the hell were ppl like you and the media when we got bombed ! you need to take a good look in the mirror before writing such political comments in a investor based forum. war victims are bad regardless of race and I condemn all invaders but the media and it's ambassadors have proved white Europeans deserves a different treatment,
Ffs it's not difficult
Just get the bloody price and convert it
We're taking about the SP not the bid/ask
Price is a price if its usd 1. 27 or 1.30 then that's the share price, same across all exchanges
If you're selling then spread is taken into account, its not gna bring the sell price to usd 1.22
adr has broker costs for the investor, settlement, custody etc, nothing to do with valuing the SP or adr conversion is diff.
Just read and convert the price from today's close LSE and you'll see the exact same price equivalent to US time.
https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/rycey
it's now usd 1.29 which is gbp 98.18
just google rolls royce adr and covert the price, see that juicy 9.4% rise
it's at usd 1.30 which GBP 99p
what will it open at in the morning ?
LMAO Ukraine having nukes.....don't ppl do a basic research before posting
A good unbiased report,
"A recent poll suggests just 20 percent think an invasion will happen soon, in line with some Ukrainian leaders"
“[US politicians] play, they bluff, because such messages move the stock market, help the business and solve personal problems” of politicians, said the 35-year-old Ukrainian citizen
https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2022/2/21/why-ukrainians-dont-believe-in-war-with-russia-distrust-west
Don't read into or consider much info from the western media outlets, always pushing their own agenda to gain whatever they can
lol it's a UT trade, not an actual buy....An uncrossing trade is where buyers on the bid and sellers on the ask match together in a single trade at the end of an auction period
do you know the debt ratio of Tesla? the best performing company for the past 2-3 yrs. There's a reason why RR is a FTSE 100 blue chip company. lol take ur financial advise to some AIM market investors.
I don't think it will have any impact, the build-up has been happening for the past 2-3 weeks and the ftse as well as other indexes have rallied as endemic approaches, if a company has operations and trading partners in Russia or Ukraine then that'll have an impact, not the case here for rr, if anything it's defence business should have an uptick. If there is an attack it will be limited and strategic, Ukraine will always remain but under a pro-Russian leadership. Pretty much what USA/NATO have done in the middle east.
The issue probably gets resolved with limited damage but I'm hoping it gets resolved peacefully as civilians will suffer on both sides, our thoughts and worries should be with them.
Anyway, back to RR, the pandemic was it's biggest obstacle and that's coming to an end, balance sheet is being strengthened and anticipating an upbeat RNS in 2 weeks. should be holding 140s by May time.
Best to pay down the debt to reduce interest payment, they can do a buy back probably before announcing dividends, in any case it'll show borrowing will no longer be required
Personally I think investors/speculators/side liners need to remind themselves of the basics, the airline industry is going to go back to normal, it's not like planes are not going to fly from now on. Debt restructuring has been great for the company, less staff, asset sales means less cash burn, they have demonstrated that in their financial results, More defence and civil nuclear work has been taken on as well as grants and partnerships. I personally don't think it will need more cash as asset sales and net cash flow will cover any deficits, better yet, rr are putting this into down payments to strengthen the balance sheet,
The SP can move 10p -/+ in a week or days but always consolidates and rises .
I understand the frustration that many of us miss picking up the share at the lowest and buy in high but that's temporary, lucky ones will pickup on the dip,
Just keep the bigger picture in mind, it should be are 125-135 in 3-6 weeks and then upwards after that
Anyone that doesn't feel comfortable should sell out at breakeven or reduce their position,
Lastly, it's a fact ! This is a day trader stock, mm/brokers/movers+shakers not sure how but it seems they can move this by small percentages, yet consolidate it correctly within days, It sucks but that's the way rr is unless we see the company do a reverse split.
It touched 113p last yr when ftse was around 6700 and none of the above work achieved,
Its a welcomed news but realistically very far from implementation. Will need UK government permission to export the tech. Too much red tape to cross for the SP to hold over 150-160pBut it could just spike to that given the ftse rose to 0.70% after close of business on Friday.Part of me wants it to retrace back to 138p to pick up more shares, but don't mind cashing in above 155p and wait for retrace.I agree with the previous post that with the rights issue, this share is nearing pre-covid SP In summary the trend is up.
off topic but important. Not sure where you get 30-50 years of money back, since 2020 a descent 5kw solar panel system will cost you around £5k and £1 to fit, it will pay itself off in 8.5 years, it will generate at least 75% of your electricity, bright or grey day, you could even get a cheaper system, all with a least 10 years warranty and life span of approximately 25 years on the panels....this is not a sales pitch but a fact! it's not that expensive, you'll be doing your bit and getting almost free electricity.
JUST COME OUT ON IG
MADRID, Aug 4 (Reuters) – Rolls-Royce is preparing to sell its ITP Aero unit to U.S. private equity firm Bain Capital and Spanish engineering group Sener for 1.6 billion euros ($1.90 billion), Spanish paper Expansion said on Wednesday, citing financial sources.
The newspaper said both the Spanish government and authorities in the Basque region where ITP Aero is based looked favourably on a sale to Bain and Sener. Sky News had previously reported that rival Spanish aerospace group Aciturri was planning its own bid.
