All the negative posters continually talk about loss of customers to other service providers or network operators. What they are talking about is, Broadband access , it is true for this service, has been for many years and will continue to be the case going forward. What they do not comment on, possibly because the only think of BT as a BB provider, or more likely because this is the only product they know anything about, just like the media reporters who have negative commentary. None of them mention all the other products and services provided to business customers, government, military, mobile service providers etc. OR deliver those and others on behalf of BT, something other SPs and network owners, in most cases exception being a limited service range by VM, are unable to offer and likely never will due to there complexity and diversity. Say what you want about BB but that is not where the real income levels are from for BT it’s all the other forms of communication needed for our modern world. When you understand the bigger picture you realize what nonsense they post about constantly.

Shame. Unfortunately there are some who never learn, keep going down the same old roads, even when the voice from the dash offers another path. Historical you have had a constant negative view to BT, but continue to imply you have a share holding in the company. Over the years we have had, VM this, Sky that, Comcast this, John Malone the other, and many other conspiracy theories, NONE of which has ever come to pass, not even nearly, very much doubt your recent rambling will either. Not for the first time you have now been drawn into the Spiders web and used by it to do there bidding. Shows a lack of personal integrity from my viewpoint, suspect others may think similarly. The spider has encouraged you to goad other members in your recent posts, fortunately they appear to have enough integrity to not reply to this, well done them shows maturity on there part. Your constant negativity, on everything you post is boring, it’s almost like an angry little man, perhaps that may be true, who knows, but many suspect it could be the case. Your posts show you have had a reasonable education, pity you waste that in your posting. Others have risen above you, as I will now do having lowered my standards to try and enlighten you for your own sake.

In summing up, you are proving to be, a pompous self indulgent idiot, one that is being directed by the Spider at present but by yourself in the past . No doubt you will as usual, disrepair for several months before returning with another load of vitriol loaded nonsense, history repeating itself.

I tried to caution you about being drawn into the web cast by another. I am becoming concerned that you are becoming trapped by the deception. Some of your recent comments appear to be influenced in a negative manner. Take a step back, you are being played and at risk of becoming a target for the spiders vitriol, they will drop you when you least expect it. Your views are being used for there pleasure, don’t let them get away with there games. Yes some of your view is contrary to the mainstream but unfortunately it is coming across with venom and at times insults unfortunately also touching on mental health, something that if you have a friend or relative suffering from you perhaps would avoid if you understood some of the issues they have to deal with day to day. I would encourage you to try and moderate your reply’s, the only person getting pleasure from it is the Spider, take a step back and try engagement, no matter how much you feel your view is not validated. Don’t let the Spider catch you, distance yourself otherwise his real motive will quickly become apparent.

Quite correct, Openreach is simply a workforce that provisions services over BTs copper or Fibre network for any SP that has access to that network to deliver there products. BT owns the network and its related infrastructure components. Originally Openreach was created to give equal delivery and maintenance of all SPs dependent on there individual contract with BT. Original this equality was governed by a set of internal compliance rules, later it was legally separated from BT but is still a BT group company. The income it generates from all SPs, including other BT brands, goes to BT at the end of the day minus operating costs. Openreach also does the network build work for BT to replace the legacy copper network and its products. So that’s the history lesson and the, who, where and why for Openreach.

As the network build comes to an end in the next few years staff levels will fall in line with Openreachs workflow, probably dramatically at some point when build needs drop away. Selling it now would be a false move, BT needs the workforce in house to keep costs down, and as a vehicle for the income from work for other SPs. Once the build is over, again why sell OR, it’s staff levels will be minimal and consistent while still generating income from others. As for the actual network, that will always be kept.

Sell off OR, not going to happen any time soon, sorry dreamers.

Aus3009. I have read your posts over the years, even before joining, and have found some of your viewpoint to have a degree of validity. Especially those that have consideration for competition to BT or possible missed opportunities. But some of your concern has not come to fruition, but you have given them consideration. I do feel that you sometimes tend to the negative for BT but with considered thought that dose not end up being the case. Unfortunately on a couple of occasions now I feel you have been drawn into the web of a consistent BT troll. That poster has managed, in my view, to have drawn you into there web of controversy and delusion for there own benefit. I feel you have been used, not for the first time, to prop up there desire for attention but not for the first time then drop you like a stone and insult you , think there term has been on several occasions, Aus nob. Not pleasant , but part of there game. It appears to me that again they are playing you for their own gain and perhaps pleasure.

I would respectfully ask you to consider how this poster may be using you as a pawn in there own small world thinking. You have shown some independent thought in respect to BT but perhaps defend your view in a slightly aggressive way rather than rising above and engaging in a respectful manner.

It says it all about one particular poster, and it’s not present, but does show there real character.

They despise the current government, to such a degree that they claimed around a year ago that if they came to power thay would go and live abroad. Nothing this government could or may consider doing will be against the posters basic leaning, yet they would happily applaud the government allowing BT to be sold to anyone, just as long as they may get there money back. Completely without any moral fiber.

Just like good old Donny Trump, some have to keep throwing themselves into the spotlight, with any thing they can think of, to get some attention. The thing is, now people have realized that it’s all intended to try and keep people thinking that there is something new or interesting or original, for the public to read. The Facts are the exact opposite, not new, not interesting, not original, that is why people now switch off and largely ignore the posts. Boring now, shame but they just can’t help themselves.

Ahhhhh. That is the best post for the majority this year. Looking forward to Green pastures in the new year for the majority, and a reduction in the Oxygen supply. The more the screen is Green, the less need there will be for the rhetoric. Wot you can’t see won’t hurt you. A prosperous new year to the majority.

How refreshing it is to see some content that is open and not repetitive. Rather than a constant stream of the following. Bid, sack the workers, etc, constant and never ending venom. Hopefully I will now be put on the green list. FYI. Have never been employed by BT or any business it owns or even has commercial involvement with. I do have some friends/relatives who have/do work for BT and or it’s commercial partners.

Intriguedspectat? Yes you appear to have summed up his situation very well. It is also likely that a major contributor to his demeanor is jealousy of BT employees. Whether past or present they have, or had, very good employment conditions . Excellent training, well paid, transport provided if working in the field, good job security for most. Then there is the extras that many of the older employees have had or continue to benefit from, be they still working or retired. Share ownership programs with a discount on the purchase price, this has allowed until recently employees to build up a substantial holding over the years should they have decided to do so or, sell with a good profit at the end of a purchase plan in most cases. Then, especially if older and members of the BTPS, an excellent pension with large tax free lump sum if they choose or chose that option if now retired. A pension that is index linked for life that after there passing 50% of could be passed onto there partner for the rest of there life. Those who chose to work for BT especially in the 80s and 90s made a very good choice for there secure future. HE is jealous of all of this because in hindsight he feels he has made the wrong choices with his supposed engagement with BT. Has to make sure his pension pot will last him, some of which is likely his pricey share purchase,with no knowing it will last, unlike BTPS members. Bit like the guy in the VW Golf advertisement of many years ago, he made the wrong choice. Jealously just makes you sad and unhappy as you have decried him.

Amimaster. The reason that the CMA case is not being discussed is the fact that there is as of now no verdict. Therefor there is no new information since the hearings ended. The longer it takes for a decision is likley in BTs favor. It there was any outstanding evidence against BT the decision would have come a few months ago.
