Revenues were forecast down so no surprise there. Once the generators are refurbed then revenue will increase again.

The key catalyst here is the extension to lease which sounds like it's coming in the next couple weeks

Next RNS should see lease extension

The Group has applied for an extension of the Production Sharing Contract (PSC) which expired on 20 August 2024. The Board is confident that the extension will be received considering that Clause 2.1 of PSC provides that PSC can be extended up to 35 years. Further, the Group is in process of renewing the existing contract with the sole customer (GAIL) for supply of gas which will expire on 30 September 2024. Moreover, the power plant in this region is the customer of GAIL and for running that plant, the supply of gas from the block is essential. The Board is confident that the customer contract will be renewed soon along with PSC extension considering the ongoing discussions with the customer and accordingly, the Group will be able to supply the gas based on a mutually agreed contract.

Based on initial discussions, we do not see offtake, financing, and permitting as insurmountable obstacles in such critical resources.

The EU has funding and needs critical resource minerals. We believe that we have the contacts, skills and experience to deliver them.

Accordingly, it makes sense for Petrel to pivot, at least partially, away from a pure petroleum focus in developing countries, and towards critical resources for which EU support is available.

Financing

The directors and their supporters funded working capital needs, and are prepared to participate in any necessary, future fundings.

The board expects to add another one or more Non-Executive Director with the next major deal.
