I just can't see the sp falling much further given the put options we have in place regardless of what happens to the gold price short to medium term

Great question and fascinating thread . Seems I am in a very similar position to SAS and have exactly the same predicament. I have bought from 0.2p all the way up to 20p and back down to 5p where I accumulated like a maniac. My portfolio in terms of stocks and shares is 90% GGP , any FA looking at it would say I'm insane ! I genuinely believe this has quite a way to go yet which is stopping me from selling a slice and I can't think of a better stock to put the money into if I did . I also have 60% of my profit held outside my ISA / SIPP so there would be considerable CGT to pay if I sold any of that portion so another reason to kick the can down the road . However I do think when the share reaches £10 (which it must) I will force myself to sell 50% and put the proceeds into gilts which I consider offer the best safe return for higher rate tax payers . In the meantime I'm trying to work out how best to plan for the family and mitigate IHT - seems leaving the UK is not so simple with the current new 10 year HMRC trail !

I appreciate the entire sector is down substantially because of the war , POG etc, but as per Novice20 I'd love a clear explanation from the knowledgeable as to how the 36M was purchased without some positive movement to the SP . If it was front run commencing weeks ago that is a hell of a lot of buying that hasn't been reported until now and yet the net result continues to be a further drop .

GGP is without doubt the best researched open chat forum that exists in the market today and the contribution made by the quality posters is invaluable. You know exactly who you are . I very rarely post as I've nothing to add but follow all the hugely respected posters religiously who have helped to make this investment life changing for me . For that I am eternally grateful to you . That said please can the forum move on from what some have regarded, rightly or wrongly, as a one off misstep by the great selfless Mr Bamps - surely he must be encouraged by all to come back and continue to share his knowledge and expertise from which most of us undoubtedly learn and benefit from.
