I see Wright Bus have announced that they have just received 11.2M in government funding to develop and manufacture low-cost hydrogen fuel cell technology for buses, and to create a Centre of Excellence in Ireland. Why does a billionaire business owner need 11.2M from the government!? That money should be used to help companies who actually need funding! Maybe its just a coincidence that the owners (Bamford Bus company) father is pals with BoJo and a Conservative Life peer, aka Lord Bamford.
I wonder how progress is going on the H-PowerTM fuel cell for Acciona field trial. The original RNS stated it was due "Early 2021" and we know that delivering the ExE cell was top priority so now that's out the doors surely its all hands on deck to get Acciona order filled. Is it too optimistic to assume we'll hear something before the end of the month?
ExtemeE to feature on Top Gear racing a guy flying with a jet pack. I very much doubt it'll feature our tech but it's good advertisement for the sport
What a cracking place to have our product. They've loaded it pretty much at the front end on the port side instead of in the hold, so every photograph or video of the St Helena as it enters it's new location will be advertising the AFC fuel cell with the "100% Clean Energy" slogan. Priceless advertisement
Whilst looking at GeoPura and GenCell for product comparison purposes, I couldn't help but think that both of their websites were so much easier to navigate and were certainly easier on the eye. GenCell is a new one to me, but the content is incredible. Does anyone else thing ours is a bit amateur? If like me when you have a product in mind (not brand) and you google it, if you find it hard to navigate a certain webpage, you simply close it and click the next one down. I hope we're not missing opportunities because of something as simple as this.
Chippyjo, if my math is correct, Haggis would've had to bought his holding at less than 1p to be up over 9000% up at todays SP so I'm guessing like the rest of us, has traded at some point, so well done Haggis, sounds like you've played an absolute blinder mate. I for one have been burnt on several occasions through losing my bottle, then panic buying back in and have lost some of my holding, however, I managed to time it right on the last attempt and have increased it by a tiny amount, but have vowed to leave it well alone from now on and top up when I can afford to. It's just not worth it.
Anyone know when the 2020 annual report is released? Is it end of Feb?
Thanks Haggis, that makes sense. In regards to what you said about them being easily modified to take our FC, this is exactly how I interpreted the report you originally shared. They mentioned that the chargers were future proofed, so even if the order isnt for "our" unit, then it could be updated at some point to take one.
Haggis, I'm with you now, I see what you're saying. So the ABB AFC charger, do you think it's as simple as "our cell with their charger"
Haggis, genuine questions here, not being facetious, but how are the two related? Isnt this order for ABBs Terra HP charger? Is the charger just simply an outlet and we (AFC) provide the power via the cell?
https://new.abb.com/ev-charging/products/car-charging/high-power-charging
Completely agree, what a position to be in right now. Geared up for production and ready to go, it's just a matter of when the RNS drops about an order, not If.
I asked the question on the ExtremeE LinkedIn post yesterday if there were plans to power the St Helena with an AFC fuel cell...needless to say I got no repsonse. Surely it's on the cards though
Now i know how the shorters must feel. I'm cursing the SP at the moment as my pension transfer still hasnt gone through and im desperate to top up! Its a strange feeling to be mad about the Sp rising. ha ha
There seems to be a constant direct comparison to ITM sp and Ceres and you can see posters getting frustrated by the "gap". Can we just acknowledge the fact that in less than 3 months ITM sp has tripled, Ceres has doubled and AFC has quintupled. Let's just relax and appreciate where we are.
I believe JCB have majority share in ITM and have Jo Bamford running Ryse Hydrogen and Wright bus. I doubt they'll be getting into AFC too. JCB recently showcased one of their excavators (probably running on Ballard hydrogen fuel) as that's what the wright bus run on. It wont be long before they're showing off a hydrogen gen set too which would suggest a tie with Ballard rather than AFC
Its frustrating to see HS2 trialling a diesel replacement generator on one of their sites.. it would be nice to hear news of one of our units being put on trial here in the uk

I cant be the only one who's guilty of interpreting "likes" on LinkedIn from AFC employees as "deals in the piepline".
Tom Pollard liking Christian Spences (Sustainable Energy Manager at Sunbelt rentals) post when referring to working with suppliers and key customers to reduce emissions with hashtags #lowcarbon and #greenfuture.
I may be way off base but the potential is there right?
As it's only a bit of lighthearted fun, I'll have a stab at £1.82

What is AFC volume record?
I'm the Caterpillar "like"
I've often thought about contacting our Electrical power systems product group to name drop AFC in the hope of a collaboration.
