I’m fairly sure Kibo have always looked to be an Energy Provider rather than a Coal Miner, and in retrospect possibly the correct route for them to-date, BUT in saying that (and few others, other than myself have given credit to the EDL bod for their foresight) if Edenville hadn’t looked to the future prior to the nullification of all the Tanzania Mining Tenders, they probably wouldn’t exist today, or they would be doing exactly the same as Kibo. ...

Re Tanzania, as mentioned previously, I personally would like to see Kibo act on the formal notice from Tanesco inviting them to develop the Mbeya Coal to Power Project for the export market enabling the Company to engage with the African Power Pools regarding off-take agreements. RNS 29th April 2019.

Never forgetting the seven Mining Rights for the MCPP which were approved and granted RNS 15th August 2019. ...

Coal prices in August 2019 are somewhat different to those currently. The current prices relate to the demand for coal as a low cost method to assist recovery in many countries including China as a direct consequence of the pandemic.

I don’t think coal sales is the problem, it’s mining the coal with (from what we can gather) unreliable and inexperienced staff. I don’t think Edenville have exported any coal yet, but have at least two very nice International contracts (plus some) for steel and cement in Burundi and Rwanda with other countries like DROC, Zambia and Malawi knocking on their door as previously mentioned.

The price of coal around the world is soaring, so there is definitely a market. Kibo have been invited to progress the MCPP and partake in the East African Power Pool (“EAPP”) so I’m not sure/don’t understand why this is not being pursued ? There are five majors Power Pools in North, NE, E, SE and South Africa to which hopefully Edenville will also be party to.

Edenville mining plant (machinery only) was purchased in Scotland and shipped to Dar es salaam and then by road to Sumbawunga, and took about six month.

There is a local market for domestic power in Tanzania, but it would need to be heavily subsidised, as has been said many times there is no point in producing coal at any cost if the locals can’t afford it!, consequently the market is elsewhere.

Kibo have had an official invitation for Tanesco to progress and add to the Power Pools, WHY is this not “apparently” being pursued??..

Imho the saviour for Kibo and Edenville will ultimately be related to the $455m Interconnector whether by them or somebody else!?....

In answer to your questions, currently as far as we are aware Edenville are fulfilling pre-paid orders using their own mining staff, while they await the outcome of the Lind (loan fiasco), and the Hand-Over (work permits) issuance for the new anchor contractor Infrastructure and Logistics Tanzania Limited (“ILTL”).

Edenvilles Subsidiary Company ‘Edenville International Tanzania Limited’ (“EITL”) has entered into a Sales and Marketing Agreement with MarTek Global FZ-LLC ("MarTek"). MarTek is a Dubai-based sister company to Infrastructure and Logistics Tanzania Limited ("ILTL").

The short answer to being in-profit is they are in profit for every tonne of coal mined as they have been paid for what’s coming out of the ground currently. Once the Lind (loan) situation is resolved and the new contractor takes over they will be paid “a profit’ by the contractor for every tonne mined...

Edenville have International Export Contracts with Burundi and Rwanda and others, but have been hitting brick wall after brick wall for several years. Too long a story, but they have never as yet been able to get enough coal out of the ground, hence the new Sales Marketing Agreement...

To-date I’d guess they have spent £15/£20 million to get to this juncture, but I could be miles out either way?..

They have 173mt of known proven coal within their Active Mining Licence which is only 9.88 sq. km, but have 3 other Active Prospecting Licenses covering 71.35 sq. km. (in total) for Metallic Minerals, Energy Minerals and Kimberlitic Diamonds. So the “Potential” is considerable if they can resolve the current brick walls.

I’m not sure if Helium is considered a mineral (re the licences) as a noble gas, but it is a by product of a mineral. Edenville are sitting atop of huge Helium reserves located within and between the Rukwa Rift Basin (system) of Lake Tanganyika and Lake Rukwa. Doubtful Helium is on Edenville’s mind, so because of the recent interest in the Rift Valley Helium I have thrown a few bob at the start-up Helium One (HE1), being Edenvilles neighbour, and will undoubtedly live to regret it! lol
