Tradable bonds; an interesting investment opportunity in themselves.
Redemption in our favour on tranche two. No further dilution. (I'm going to blow my own trumpet on this one...I suggested it yesterday!)
The key questions will be; how much more debt is to come and when will the equity element be put in place.
We've all waited a very long time for this and it's truly gratifying that the old maxim of patience being rewarded applies here.

The bonds will be tradable and could be an attractive investment in their own right.
Libor +8%... hmmm. Still, at least it's not the 15% suggested in that article. I also note that the second bond is redeemable via cash settlement by the company with no further dilution.
This would not have been agreed and announced without the company being close to finalization of the overall package.
Exciting times...we are definitely on our way!

gfb, sadly you are indeed talking 'dangly objects'. BCN owns 50% of Zinnwald.

TC, obviously the article was of a generic nature and there's no evidence to suggest BCN will end-up paying 15%, particularly bearing in mind the level of equity going into the deal.
I also wonder if the Omani deal puts the accelerated production plans back on the agenda? If it includes an off-take, then one would assume so.
If not, the deal seems to be of a very conservative nature: Take on the minimum required for Stage 1, prove the concept, produce revenue and cash flow, reduce the debt, thus providing a track record and then return to the debt market for Stage 2 without the need for further equity.
It is also possible that some of the package will include a redeemable equity element. In other words a convertible loan note with the company having the option to redeem rather than convert into equity should certain targets be met. I suppose a bond issue could also be a possibility.
Anyway, who knows?! The permutations are endless. In any event, please get on with it and put us out of our agony!

The future of both companies has been so inextricably linked that, rightly or wrongly, I and a few others have regarded these boards as being inter-changeable. Historically, BCN was reliant upon REM, now the tables have turned.
Some people seem to be of the opinion that I would like to see KDNC fail; nothing could be further from the truth. Sure, I have regarded the remuneration and governance of this company as being iniquitous and I was particularly grieved by the blocking of the first re-domicile attempt, but I have nothing other than good wishes for shareholders here. For heavens sake, if BCN thrives, so too will KDNC. And I can assure you, it's very much in my self-interest to see BCN thrive.
Whichever bb one visits, one sees someone exclaiming "Why are you posting here?" etc, etc. To me, this is to fundamentally misunderstand the reason for these bbs'. Whichever company I'm a shareholder in, I pay particular attention to the negative posts (provided they are not simply venal or daft) Investment is all about understanding the risk and to ignore an alternative opinion has to be the daftest thing any investor could do. People become so attached to their shareholdings and the belief they couldn't possibly have made a mistake, that all objectivity flies out of the window; which is the surest way of losing your money.
Anyway, despite what anyone else may think, we are all on the same side here and all of us are looking forward to the next announcement...at least I hope we are!

Come to think of it, assuming we get our funding, which appears to be a fair assumption, this will put us in a very strong position compared to competitor explorer/developers.
Not only in terms of the lithium market, where supply will be restricted by virtue of lack of investment, but also in terms of demand for BCN shares. Those people looking to invest in lithium will flock to a company with funding at the expense of those without it.

Quite a depressing article, Barksy; for the whole sector, not just BCN. And I guess it explains why BCN will have to raise so much equity, or quasi-equity to fund stage 1.

Frankie, if you'd been around a bit longer on this board you'd understand full well my position. And yes, I am a shareholder in BCN and have been since December 2014.And by the way, I think you'll find the answer as to why I, or anyone else, posts on any particular board, has been answered many, many times.
Had you more than "skim read" what I posted, you'd have noticed that I also mentioned someone else as a potential seller.
You seem to have taken my question as some form of insult or attack on KDNC, which strikes me as daft. KDNC is one of the most likely sellers. It is possible one of the institutional holders may have sold, but it's not very likely. And if your company is selling (which will require an announcement in due course) I imagine it will be of great interest to you.

degsie, no I'm not. I invested in REM many, many moons ago and sold at about 1p.
Frankie, idle speculation...nothing more. Although why anyone would sell the shares at the moment is somewhat mystifying...unless they need the cash for something else...like investing in another company, for instance.

iceberg,I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this issue. And I don't see any connection between KDNC and the RNS which, in my opinion, only related to what appeared in the Sunday Times and was a company led initiative to provide positive momentum to the share price ahead of the funding announcement.

btw, there's an incredibly tight market so far this morning. I've struggled to get a quote and when I do it's only been for 3000 shares.

iceberg, it may depend upon the nature of the RNS, but I can assure you it appears in most announcements. In any event, there's no need to read anything into it.
Re sells: I'm sure you're right. There could be two culprits; that Lithium fund (can't remember the name),who've been trading this for some time, or our friends at KDNC. Bear in mind, they need the cash for their investment in Prem. Regardless of who it was, it didn't effect the price in a negative way.

iceberg, the insider trading paragraph is standard and is included on every RNS.
As for those sells (if they were sells, which given the sp rise, seems a bit odd), it wouldn't surprise me to find out it was KDNC. Let's face it, their track record on these matters is not great.

The news leak was carefully co-ordinated with this announcement and sought to deflect criticism for failing to hit the self-imposed deadline.
What we can be sure of is that it's going to happen, and soon. Secker's to do list is getting shorter and shorter.
