submitted my questions to St Brides and I would urge you all to do the same.
The topics I raised were the performance of Cannacord, or lack thereof; their fees and whether we paid them anything; potential sources of financing, and timing. Justification of the optimism around the financing issue given that the market quite clearly said "No". What is happening with regard to NextView and the legal case against the estate of COE (we haven't had any news for over a year)
I don't imagine we'll get any answers to these questions.

TBTT, not just EMH. Think of the many other projects out there and the various companies claiming that untold riches lie just around the corner.
Many of them are in nowhere near as good a position as we are and are nowhere near as professional (putting to one side investor communication)
My view is that these companies will prove their resources and then fail to raise finance. They will then either mothball the projects, or go bust. In due course, when the market for lithium begins to reach it's true potential, someone else will come along and reap the rewards. We must not allow ourselves to fall into that situation.

At least they have now provided a degree of clarity. The sad thing is they could have said all of this at the time of the aborted placing and the failure to do so has cost shareholders many millions of pounds as well as doing a great deal of damage. My view is that the conference call is being held under sufferance and is as a direct response to shareholder pressure. It shouldn't be this way and I only wish that our PR advisors would give better advice to Secker with regard to communication...it is what we're paying them for after all. Still, at least he's got round to doing it.
Cutting through the verbiage, this RNS tells us what we already knew. Great project, great and growing market, but finance market ferked. In other words, it all comes down to finance, finance and erm, finance. My questions will be directed at this.

What was your "takeaway" (to use a ghastly, modern business-speak word) from that podcast? After nearly 40 minutes, were you any the wiser? I know I wasn't.
Two people rambling on for at least 30 minutes longer than was necessary. The only useful comment related to the percentage of global sales accounted for by the spot market. I hadn't realised it was so low.

As ever, this RNS was opaque at best.
It refers to conditions precedent for all three tranches, but then says stage one is available for immediate drawdown. I'm assuming the condition precedent for stage one was the registering of the charge against the assets, which we know has happened. But were there others? For example, we know the other funding packages were only available only available once the placing was successfully completed.
Well, we know that didn't happen, so does that imply the facilities have been withdrawn, or are they in abeyance whilst we await a revised funding structure?
Indeed, has the first $25m been drawn, and if so, what's it being used for, given that we already have plenty of money in the bank? if it has been drawn, is it being used to place orders for the kit?
There are so many unanswered questions at the moment that it's almost impossible to form a rational and informed investment decision. Personally, i think this is exceptionally poor shareholder communication and Secker has retreated to his old ways. Not good.

newboy, I can assure you I'm not feeling comfortable with this! However, this is too big an asset to be ignored. Something will happen, one way or another...funding, sale, strategic investor etc, etc. Therefore, I shall sit on my hands and will not be selling, or buying. Mind you, at this price it's very tempting to add a few more.
Iceberg, how do know 'shorts were closed in the 60's'? How do you know there were any shorts?
Personally, I'm not sure we have hit the bottom yet. It takes a lot of time to put together a funding package of this nature and until we have, the price will be highly vulnerable. However, one thing we can be absolutely sure of is that PS is not sitting on his arse, staring out of the window wondering what to do next.

I'd be astonished if they had any short positions. Do you have any evidence?
If they did, BCN should most definitely sack them immediately. Perhaps they could appoint Morgan Stanley !

Dallas, I can assure you, I've taken far more umbrage at Cannacord's dismal performance. I'd sack the useless bar-stewards asap.

If HH is a success, and let's hope it is, there will be plenty of opportunities to buy as it will be transformed into a proper long-term investment. Sure, you may miss the absolute bottom, but so what? The real value will accrue over many years and a few fractions of a penny will be irrelevant.
To buy now, in the absence of any facts, is a straightforward bet, based upon zero knowledge. Why take the risk?

Are you suggesting you base an investment decision upon what DL says? Does his track record have no resonance for you?

You have no idea how many people on this page have argued until they are blue in the face that WRN will re-emerge as a quoted company, with all shareholders being in the exact same position they were before it went bust.
WRN is finished. Whet represents the future for ex-WRN shareholders and those harbouring hopes of some miracle resurrection of WRN are alas, deluded.
Mind you, the much vaunted $2bn's worth of deals doesn't seem to have happened, does it?

salmon, your frustration is justified. However, the business doesn't exist in any meaningful sense anymore. It is no more than a collection of files on the desk of a liquidator who has complete control of everything which goes on. He is under no obligation to release any news until he feels fit. The previous directors have no powers to release news.
So yes, it must be annoying for ex-shareholders, but if you wish to gain any insight a phone call to the liquidator is the only way.

Interesting point Dallas. The one thing I do know is that they made a right pigs ear of it and should be sacked. They've done a great deal of damage to BCN and somehow have contrived to make one of the most exciting projects in the sector look lame.
I seriously hope PS can pull several rabbits out of the hat.

Barksy, I am, although I'm not sure I understand your comment about time running out. The company still has plenty of cash...if that was what you were referring to.

We certainly need some positive news and soon.
I'm actually seriously peed off with Cannacord. They should have been in a position to give proper advice to the company as to the chances of success, or otherwise, of the proposed placing. It's failure has made us look extremely amateurish and has damaged our market perception. It has left us very vulnerable to either a low-ball takeover offer, or very expensive fund raising.
It is the job of our broker to have its finger on the pulse and since our need for funds was obvious for a very long time, they should have either pre-placed the issue or advised an alternative approach.
Frankly, the company should sack them and find someone who can do the job properly. I'm not even remotely impressed with their capabilities.
