are any of you guys adding to your holdings at the moment? If you are, is the decision being driven by today's news, or in anticipation of the 15th?
Since selling out of GGP, I've added quite a few and am contemplating more. From where I sit, the percentage upside here is greater than I can see virtually anywhere else. We are chronically undervalued - at some stage this has to be recognised.

This will come as an enormous shock to all of you, but the deadline has come and gone and there's no sign of the Confirmation Statement.
Are the ordinary shareholders of this company not remotely interested in what's happened to their money?

Quady, you are right, this is good news and most certainly enhances our value, but it doesn't improve our 'defence'. As Jerry has suggested, it merely makes us more attractive to a bidder. The "too big to fall" argument is not relevant.

earthling, provided those shareholders who own 60% of the company and are said not to be interested in our bid, maintain their stance, they are not vulnerable. Of course, they can change their mind, but frankly, they'd have to be insane to do so.
By the way, it's easy to dismiss CGP and certainly their EGM demands are patently ridiculous, but for those of us wanting a sale they are useful. Inevitably, if a bid emerges they will be consulted beforehand and will be in a position to negotiate in a way denied to us private investors. As I've said before, ironically, they may turn out to be a useful ally.

Colonel, that's not the case. They are also shareholders in SOLG and will benefit in the same way as the rest of us.

It's in auction. I got a shock when I logged into my account to see the price at 30.2p.

I'd like to see many more announcements explaining the company has missed a deadline.

Dart, I think it exceedingly unlikely they'd use those tactics. The market would know immediately they were on the prowl and move the sp up accordingly.
They'll get their hands on this either by way of an agreed deal or a hostile bid.

Quady, in the first instance it would indeed be a concert party (as defined in the Code) and one founded on the basis that BHP and NCM would run the company as a jv. It's got absolutely feck-all to do with NM 'ruling it out'. If they make a serious approach, he'll sit down and negotiate. If he refuses to do so, which I very much doubt, they'll go hostile and win.

iceberg, you misunderstood my point.
I was referring to a potential jv to bid for SOLG. And no, it wouldn't necessarily require a hostile bid. BHP and NCM could reach an agreement as to how they wish to move forward and then approach NM with an offer. If NM does his job properly, he'll negotiate a good price and bingo! we're all happy.

Sorry, I should have added that the jv will not include SOLG - why would it? BHP don't need us and nor would a Barrick/ NCM.

Quady, what SOLG have to say about a jv is pretty much irrelevant. It's whether BHP will enter into a jv in order to get their hands on the company and I regard it as quite possible.

Quady, as I've said on numerous occasions, no one will bid until BHP's intentions become clear. Their competitors will be looking at the situation and will have no wish to act as a benchmark for BHP's move. They will wait until BHP have played their hand and at that point, decide whether they think it worthwhile trying to compete - which in my opinion, is most unlikely. If Barrick, NCM or anyone else wants a part of this, the ONLY way to do so will be in a jv with BHP - which I think is quite possible. BHP is in a very strong position and the market knows it.
The problem you have is that you've consistently underestimated, or under-played, the percentage shareholding held by BHP and NCM. Your view is that it's trivial; it is not. It's absolutely pivotal, as NM knows full-well.

Quady, just out of interest, what have BHP said on the matter? And before you say this proves your "no evidence" argument, the fact is they will not say anything until they're ready to move. At that point, you'll get all the evidence you need.

Darren, focus on the big issues. The appeal remains undiminished.

This may sound a bit daft, but I'm not at all concerned about the delay. As I see it, the PFS is a side-show compared to other events. Unfortunately, CGP may well use this as a stick with which to beat the company, but again, I'm not worried about what they have to say. The key issue is what BHP and/or others think; and I can see no reason why it would have any effect upon their opinion or intentions.
I note that at long last the company hasn't given a new deadline; perhaps they've learnt something.

I guess we knew this would happen. It seems there's still quite a lot of work outstanding and it puts to pay the conspiracy theory it was deliberately being withheld.

Quady, even if someone does, he can't reveal anything not available to all shareholders via an RNS. I'm sure if he's asked "where's the PFS?" he'll waffle on about delays; or pretend he's never said it's due now.
What you'll get is a load of stuff about Tier 1 asset; financed to DFS; funding package being worked on etc, etc.
Anyway, he's got one day left to produce the PFS, so let's keep our fingers crossed.
