.. draghi has repeated low rates .. but.. mkt forces are changing.. if rates go up.. for bonds.. that could be positive for banks.. the dow was off today .. almost 250 pts.. rumors of higher rates everywhere.. lets see what happens..
.. it is the sector to be in.. the FED has approved capital plans for 34 large banks including BBVA from Spain. Most banks were higher.. FED rates were also raised this month.. The UK is also talking higher interest rates.. Draghi will be forced to increase rates..
.. warren buffet bought apple.. warren takes good care of his stocks .. no one dares to short his stocks..
.. i would also be cautious.. the govt apparently has a list of investors purposely kept out of the bidding for aib.. unless they fine.. penalize.. prohibit these particular funds this erratic trading could continue.. thats the way this works..
.. small investors were allowed to purchase all the AIB shares they wanted... however.. 1/3 of the big hedge funds were not allowed to buy any AIB shares for fear of shorting.. thus.. they were clearly identified.. the govt must have a blacklist of these investors .. identified.. access denied.. very interesting.. https://www.irishtimes.com/business/financial-services/thousands-of-small-investors-spend-average-of-46-150-each-on-aib-shares-1.3131659?mode=amp
.. recent article regarding AIB. and BOI.. AIB is valued at 12.9 billion with the recent sale.. this is the magic number they were looking for.. as for performance.. AIB is not ahead of Boi.. balance sheets.. nim.. writedowns.. profits .. are about equal.. no reason at all why BOI should be valued in the stock market at 7.5 billion.. Boucher has not protected the investors.. nor the pension funds.. https://www.irishtimes.com/business/markets/a-year-after-brexit-vote-european-and-uk-shares-diverge-1.3131513?mode=amp
.. if boucher can't protect boi stock from manipulation . then his accomplishments are overstated.. time to move on.. hopefully the new ceo will do a better job..
.. have seen 240 mm shares transacted today.. at this hour.. unusual.. and
.. is scheduled for approval by the high courts very soon.. should no longer be a penny stock.. i much prefer boi than aib.. a new CEO is also good news..
.. good. job..!
.. you are a hero.. hats down.. us .. little small investors can't fight the big guys.. i have been a shareholder of boi since oct 2011.. this stock was doing fine with Ross .. it was still in slight losses but the share was much higher.. before Ross started to sell this was a 0.37 stock .. how can a bank with a string of earnings .. stabie.. be valued at 7billion.. should be on par with AIB.. something is wrong here... fines.. penalties.. prohibition of trade should be on the books.. how much money has been made shorting this stock..? .. countries like germany would not allow this manipulation with strategic investment like banking.. keep us posted.. hope BOI makes a U. turn.. and recovers..
.. did anyone notice the interest rate hike of 0.25% by the fed today.. i have seen some banks like bbva in US raise their prime rate.. good for boi.. that is a jump of 1/2 of 1% this year..
.. interesting .. does blackrock short to goldman or is it the other way.. clearly it seems the govt is worried about this situation.. it never happened while Ross was a major shareholder..
.. unfortunately boi has been a penny stock.. trading in the pink sheets.. hopefully with a different stock symbol .. the reverse stock split.. these UT trades can be cut out.. it will no longer be a penny stock.. easier to regulate.. when Ross was a major shareholder this was not happening.. the only way to cure this problem is with heavy fines .. penalties. .. a trade prohibition..
.. the french never wanted Uk in the EU.. it was only after de Gaulle passed on that this deal was made possible
.. it appears there is worry about the aib sale.. the shorting..... looks like blackrock does not fit the definition of a high quality investor.. The State plans to sell 25 per cent of AIB initially but will be looking to offload the remainder of its 99.9 per cent stake over time. So it’s important to attract a high-quality, and supportive, shareholder register that won’t have significant churn. When pricing the IPO, the department will want to attract the widest investor audience for the bookbuild while creating momentum that could allow it to demand a price close to the top of the range.
. .. 10 seats from n. ireland sealed the election.. close call.. boi seems to have recovered from the downward spiral.. reverse stock deal for aporoval. in 2 weeks
.. i have great curiosity in reading how much blackrock bought into AIB.. ? they are a major shareholder of BOI.. they own 5%..
I see this too in the news.. Ireland launches long awaited AIB listing w/ 25% stake sale.. it seems like it has been launched today.. the reverse stock split for boi is scheduled for the 3rd week of june pending approval by the high courts..
S&P. Global Financials are up 19% for a one year.. most of the gains are the past 6 months (election of Trump).. BOI is down. - 9%. for the 1 year period.. it is running 28% behind gobal banks for a 1 year period.. close to 30% behind .. if BOI were to be running on par with the avg global financials you would have to take. 0.24. x. 1.3 = 0.31 range.. it was in the .35 range not too long ago..
