The ClinicalTrials site is THE authoritative global listing of clinical trials. If you want people to know about your trial then it needs to go on that site. There is no obligation to keep the data current and Avacta's entry has lagged behind the news at times re recruiting hospitals. The estimated end dates are just that, estimated. The site gives an overview of what the trial is and what its purpose is. There is no status information re cohort number, Phase 1a or 1b, number of patients recruited, etc. If anyone wants to find out how far a trial has got, then news services and the sponsor's website are the best places to look.

It costs a minimum of $3,000 to get the report, which is dated July 2023, so hadn't been published when the PRNewswire press release was, er, released, to advertise it.

Accepted that it takes a while for these desk research reports to be published, but 10th May and the latest news about AVA6000 was the ODD?...

I wonder whether the Avacta management will be purchasing a copy to see what the competition was doing last year.

This was an interesting thread until the sealion arrived. Now it is mostly green boxes for me. Ffs, just ignore it. It never has anything useful to add and just repeats its drivel again and again. Anyone who takes any notice deserves the same lack of investing success as the sealion enjoys.

I wonder whether they regret starting at 80 and doing 40mg/m² escalations.

80mg/m² of AVA6000 contained 90% of the 60mg/m² doxorubicin dose. If they'd gone for 100mg/m² as a starting point then that would be equivalent to 67.5mg/m² doxorubicin, so halfway between the standard 60 and 75 doxorubicin doses. If they'd then escalated by 50 each time we'd be at 350 now in C6 (and increasing by 50 each escalation, not the 60 we're currently increasing by.

Hindsight's a great thing. And it certainly had to be proved that AVA6000 wasn't toxic and wouldn't dump a whole lot of doxorubicin in a bad place, and that the leaving group was inert, or at least not malignant. Still, could have saved us some time.

If lab-grown tissues is going to be a thing in the future and City-Mix™ is as productive and cost effective as claimed (and as some producers are already believing) then 12p per share will be regarded as a steal in a few years time.

I hear what you're saying but the company, through 3D Bio-Tissues, has come a long way in a short time. I know it's a rare commodity in small, start-up investment by private investors, but patience is required. Remember Warren Buffett's quote: “The stock market is a device for transferring money from the impatient to the patient.”

Personally, I'm pleased with the progress so far. Just waiting for details of revenue streams.

Just be thankful the SP isn't being manipulated by traders and the vermin that inhabit these LSE BBs. Let the company get on with expanding their business quietly. There will be interest enough (and probably vermin also) when the size of contracts are known, if they are sizable.

I could have sworn I read a report from the 28 June meeting in which it was stated (in private conversation) that the first patient hadn't been dosed at that time. May have been in an audio piece but I think that's extremely unlikely otherwise someone would have referenced it already. I'm sure C6 has certainly started, if not prior to the 28th, then soon after.

I agree with Thompi that it's not sensible to guess how long C6 will take as we know that the duration of the previous ones has varied wildly.

There were no numbers with the RNS. The market is interested in seeing the revenue, which wasn't there, not surprisingly. I guess we'll have to wait for the next financial report (end of January?) unless an RNS or two give us some contract values.

I got onto this from the "UK’s First Fillet of Cultivated Meat Produced" and staff mini-feast RNS of 1 Feb as it seemed very unusual and intriguing and has what I look for in a start-up tech business - disruptive IP and wide application. All will depend on whether artificially grown meat/tissue/leather/etc becomes an economically viable thing I suppose. I notice that MM had/has been pushing this as one of his investments. Well, he was last time I looked. I don't go on Twitter much.

@13thmonkey, There are two markets. The artificial meat (leather, etc) market, where BSF seems to have an advantage. That is the picks and shovels winning strategy. And the other market is the general meat market where, until prices are competitive with livestock meat, it is going to be a niche ethical market as long as there are low quality £2 chickens available for people 'on a budget'.
