My goodness me, just tuned into ITV and have seen the wrestling !!! What a pile of old s%^te, and I thought Newzoids was bad !

….at the last AGM, it was announced that another 1billion shares were authorised to be issued, so that's erm, don't tell, ah yes, just 786,000,000 to go.

And don't forget all that 'free' money through QE that was invested in all the FANG stocks rather than sitting on banks' balance sheets doing nothing !

So the numbers were okay, a positive forward looking statement and nothing for the market to get too fearful of.

Interesting that the first move this morning down to 167 didn't last very long, a minute or so at best and the stock was well bid when it hit 170p all day today.

Could that be the manipulative base, I wonder. The market was very keen to rein in any siginifcant upside, so I'm donning my deerstalker hat and will say that any potential bid will happen around the 225p level initially !

Just putting it out there !

In other dealmaking news, a report that Chinese conglomerate Fosun International is considering a bid for Belgian insurer Ageas could move the shares up 5 to 7 percent, traders said.

TV stocks were also likely movers. Britain’s ITV was seen falling 1 to 2 percent due to a cautious outlook despite reporting a first half boosted by the World Cup and “Love Island”. France’s TF1 meanwhile is indicated up from 2 to 9 percent after results.

…...look good to me, no horrors or surprises in there.

Over to you Go Suchs, do your worst !

Apart from the last set of numbers, since 2010 when the ITV recovery story began, the market has called down the stock after the figures and as I've said it before it won't surprise me the slightest if we see another markdown courtesy of Goldman Suchs.

Bring it on, either way I'm ready to load up with a few more !

...will no doubt be up to their tricks before Wednesday. My guess is that they will call the stock down on results day citing some old ****e like, '......the extra advertsing revenue as a result of the England's successful world cup campaign was not as high as our forecasts and market consensus'.

This will no doubt give them ample opportunity to get some more cheap stock in for Liberty !!!

I've got some funds on the sidelines ready to pounce !!!

Those trades 3m sale and 4m sale both timed at 14:31, coinciding with the opening of Wall Street and only a facrtion outside of the bid price at the time.

July 2014 - Liberty buys 6.45 stake in ITV from BskyB - And makes comment that it doesn't intend to bid for ITV

July 2015 - Liberty increases its stake in ITV to 9.9% and makes further comment that it doesn't intend to bid for ITV

Don't worry about the finance of any bid, all that QE money thats sitting on Goldmans books is ready to be spent (nearly at 0% don't forget) !

Now the 1.30 level against sterling has been broken will that finally tempt Liberty ?

My goodness me they've saved themselves a few quid since the turn of the year !

Okay, since 1990 there hasn't been a great deal of interest in the 3rd place play off games in the World cup finals but with the new found confidence of the England team and with the whole country behind Gareth Southgate and his merry men, whilst meaningless the game will still attract a lot of the viewing public which means, yes a lot of advertisers as well.

How many advertisers will have pre-booked a slot citing 'England's 3rd Place Play-off' ahead of this World cup ?

And with ITV showing the match from 14:30 -17:30 tomorrow, there will be a late rush from companies to clamber aboard this advertising juggernaught !

Okay, its only one match I hear you say but at least it will give us an insight into how advertisers are now viewing the national team and the match whilst only 90 mins, ITV's coverage is three hours long !

As I previously mentioned, we all now know that Go Suchs were behind that move yesterday and with the appreciation of the $/£ will Liberty now crunch the final numbers?

Interesting times indeed.

Its been a while since I've been on this board, my last exit was around the 217 level last year before the stock went XD.

But I think its time I re-visited, the stock called down sharply this morning, Go Suchs orchestrating the movement once again and its no coincidence that they are acting on behalf of Liberty International, so is the bid play now in operation. And no shorting by them for while as well (since late March/early April).

ITV will now be in such a strong postion to re-negotiate all the advertising contracts tied in with the nations football team having exclusive rights to all Englands matches right up to and including the 2022 World Cup. The national team will come home as heros, the last time they stepped off a plane to such adulation was in 1990.

By the fact that the next Euros will be played on home soil and the the World Cup TV audiences surpassing all expectations the future of TV advertising could not be looking rosier.

Liberty Intl will sort out the content, those reality programmes have had thier day and need to be put into room 101 and advertising on behalf of all the blue chip brands will be back on the channel, lets face it they will be the ones with the big bucks come 2020 and 2022.

I'm in !!!

Its not nice to gloat about someone else's misfortune but I am at a loss about this trade. Was it just a speculative punt or something else, either way it certainly disrupted the market here over the last couple of days.

Hopefully normality if you can call it that in the AIM market will be restored next week.

Either way its been a good week for the company and long may it continue.

Onwards and upwards !
