Our neighbours reporting last night, helium is everywhere, including in the water and that covers the entire basin (300km wide) they are now in commercial discussions where CAPEX can be lowered by forward selling helium and Noble’s results so far are nowhere near HE1’s. Imagine the discussions Lorna and her team are having with the majors?

At 2p I’ve 7 bagged and still have to read nonsense about how HE1 is a con, a useless company, a day away from going bust, yeah right. I understand I am lucky where I got in and there has been much pain for LTH’s, but I have faith in a few years life changing money will be made for all of us.

Gas seeps containing up to 10.6% helium have been discovered in Tanzania. Since 1903, economic grade helium has been discovered in 12 countries, raising the world’s helium reserves to 35.2 billion m3 in 2015 [1]. Despite this, discoveries of economic helium (0.3% ≤) are still only serendipitously found while searching for petroleum. Radiogenically produced 4He accumulates in ancient crust during quiescent periods and is subsequently released during periods of active tectonism [2]. Studies in North America have also shown a clear link between radiogenic 4He released during orogenic events and ASW-derived 20Ne indicating an important role for groundwater in helium transport into pre-existing gas traps [3, 4]. Here we present new data from 5 helium-rich gas seeps in Tanzania. Helium concentrations vary between 0.027 cm3STP (2.7%) and 0.106 cm3STP (10.6%). The 3He/4He ratio ranges from 0.039 RA to 0.053 RA (1 RA = 3He/4Heair) showing a dominant crustal signature. 40Ar/36Ar ratios range from 409.9- 548.7 and are distinct from air (40Ar/36Arair = 295.5). 4He/20Ne values across the seeps vary from 2.4 × 103 to 8.9 × 103, showing up to two orders of magnitude greater water involvement than North American wells which may indicate the importance of local hydrothermal systems to volatile transport in the region. The high concentrations of helium in the region are likely related to the heating and fracturing of the Archean Tanzanian Craton and Proterozoic Mozambique Belt by the younger arms of the East African Rift System (< 5 Ma). The distribution of high helium seeps along active faults shows increased communication between the shallow and deep crust. This combined with the presence of gas traps in the area suggests that there may be a significant helium resource.

When the scum start posting believable stories, like the class derampers do, then you want to start worrying, the variety we have here are just low grade gamblers who upgraded from the betting shops.

Shell Tanzania is a full-fledged Integrated Gas business operation based in Dar es Salaam, the commercial capital of Tanzania. Shell‘s activities in Tanzania began in the 1930s with fuel and lubricants as the main business. In 2016 the company expanded its presence through the BG Shell combination. Shell Tanzania’s main assets are two offshore deep-water blocks (Block 1 & 4) held in partnership with Medco Energi (Ophir Energy) and Pavilion Energy. The blocks hold some 16 Trillion Cubic Feet (TCF) of recoverable gas, 22 exploration and appraisal wells drilled (over 90% success rate). Fields are located 100 km from the shoreline. An investment of 4.5 Trillion Tshs ($2 billion) has been made so far.

Equinor of Norway and ExxonMobil hold an adjacent block (Block 2) with almost the same volumes of recoverable gas. All these blocks together hold sufficient gas to enable a shared onshore LNG liquefaction plant.

The government has allocated land for this facility in Lindi, located on the southern Tanzanian coast. All five investors work in close partnership with the Tanzanian national oil company, Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC). The so-called integrated Tanzania Gas and LNG Project (TGP) is currently at pre-DG2 phase, but much technical preparatory work has already been completed by the partners. The TGP will be the largest investment ever to be undertaken in Tanzania. In addition to producing LNG for export, the project will also add to Tanzania’s supply of domestic gas, thus supporting development of the country’s energy infrastructure with an additional source of clean-burning gas for power generation and industrial activities.

Commercial negotiations are currently ongoing with the government of Tanzania to develop the legal, regulatory, and fiscal structures required to allow the project to proceed. The speed of progress of these negotiations will determine the timeline for project implementation.
